A really nice place with great views over the crocodile river, good for spending an afternoon with drinks and lunch. Koomatipoort is not blessed with many restaurants, and in the realm of just wanting a 'plate of food' (or bordkos in Afrikaans!) this is a good place where locals appear to gather. So I give it a higher rating because the view is bloody fabulous. The food is quite acceptable for country dining. Menu has an unexpected range of choices. Service fine even if you have to wave hands occasionally for attention. Guess it's best explained as a pub drinking spot with restaurant. The wine on offer was frankly quite awful, we went through about 4 bottles which we didn't drink. Stick to bear and shooters and you will have a great time, unless your are particular about wine! Recommended all the same.

I had the prego and chips. Nice and spicy as well as more than a generous portion. Daughter had chicken strips. Not overcooked.
Situated on the riverbank of the crocodile river, the best view ever overlooking Kruger National Park. First time I spotted an osprey. Great experience.

Nice location for a spot of lunch & viewing game in Kruger from the balcony. Only 5 mins from town & free parking. Good service.

The restaurant is basically on a wooden deck that overlooks the Kruger Park, stunning views. The waiters are quick with your orders and the food was really delicious, cannot go wrong with the Portuguese grilled chicken. The grilled prawns also good.

We had a light lunch here recently while enjoying views over Kruger park.
The choices were good, the service was great and the food was excellent.
Would be a great spot for sunset drinks next time we are there.

After a late breakfast we popped into Komatiepoort and after a little shopping decided to try the restaurant at the local golf club (after our not so good experience at another local restaurant rated #1 in town) we were a little apprehensive...

Ordered filter coffee and milkshake and chocolate brownie with ice cream. Had a good look at the menu and the meals being served to the people sitting around us and were impressed.

Our order didn’t let us down and we will be back to try some of the Interesting menu choices.

I went with friends for a drink, and we decided to eat something. The wooden patio and view add ambience to the evening. The service was quick, and the waiter friendly. The food we ordered was well prepared. The seafood basket that I've ordered was delicious and valued for money. Definitely, a pleasant venue to relax. I'm not a golfer, but I think golfers will enjoy the place.

Whilst staying at Trees Too Guest Lodge in Komatipoort, we were recommended to go for lunch at Kambaku Golf Club.

Although my golfing days are over, my son (plays off 8) and myself were immediately attracted to the golf course which winds its way alongside the Crocodile River, which borders the Kruger National Park.

Four of us enjoyed an excellent lunch, sitting out on the verandah overlooking the river and Kruger Park. Lovely to see the occasional giraffe and an elephant on the far riverbank!

The menu is not extensive, but very varied - from sandwiches, right through to steaks and very much geared to providing what is expected, and more, at any golf club, but service was prompt and very pleasant and we all enjoyed a variety of lunches.

All the food was tasty, nicely prepared and well presented.

We would have gone again, but we were leaving the following day.

Komatipoort is a small town situated at the bottom end of the Kruger Park, almost on the Mozambique border, so it is not on the regular 'beaten, tourist path.

However, as a means of reaching probably the best game viewing area of the Kruger National Park, about 15 minutes drive away, via the Crocodile Bridge gate, it can' be beaten.

Trees Too (a family run small Lodge, which we have visited several times and which is more than 'very good', is also ideally situated for travelling south into, or through, Swaziland.
