This is a truly great memorial to a man who really did change the world! Situated in the middle of an island as you approach lutterworth it is well worth seeing if in the area

If you are interested in Aircraft and history of the Jet engine well worth the visit A number of war time airfields in the area to visit

Firstly a correction - the aircraft replica is NOT a Spitfire. It is a Gloster E.28/39, the first British jet-powered fighter aircraft. It commemorates the invention of the jet engine by Sir Frank Whilttle; he worked in Lutterworth and Rugby and test flights took place...More

What a great way to visit a town. Where else is there a spitfire on the roundabout. Just off the M1. Travel towards Rugby and you'll find roundabouts with cup cakes, boats and even more on.

We only saw this monument as we headed away from our overnight stay, being set on a roundabout. A suitable monument to a famous man.

Sounds terrible because I do appreciate the history behind the sculpture of the plane but its difficult to get excited about a roundabout. Yes its a nice lead in to the town, yes its great to remember the heritage but its not really worth going...More
