We had often heard of the Fort Point Lighthouse on the LaHave but really hadn't heard exactly what it offered. We have our own little Fort Port Lighthouse in Liverpool which is incredible and beautiful in itself. We took a drive along the Lighthouse Route...More

The setting makes this little museum worth a visit if you happen to be in the vicinity. It has a rich past from its first visit by Samuel de Champlain and some interesting artifacts. It's a 30-45 minute visit, not worth a major detour. Nearby...More

We did not know what to expect when we got there and were truly surprised. After perusing the exhibits, we headed out beyond to lunch by the see. Several benches make for an excellent setting. One of the exhibits asks you to look across the...More

A hidden gem. Excellent documentation & display of early French settlement in Nova Scotia. Only wished I had more time to browse and read the displays. Beautiful location as well.

Our latest trip to Nova Scotia had a bit of a theme, while we didn't cover the entire south shoreline we did cover a lot of it, traveling along the Lighthouse Route we found many points of interest worthy of stopping. The Lahave Lighthouse is...More

The museum may be small but the beauty that surrounds it is every changing. Take a walk in the teepee look over the marsh or better still sit and have a picnic as you watch the sail and fishing boats go by , we did....More

The people are knowledgeable and the displays are the best. This gives a great part of the history for our area with wonderful displays on the Micmacs, and of Champlain and the local culture and history of long ago.
