This trip was fantastic. The landscape is an endless “wave of green fields” withe scattered settlements. Herds of sheep and herdsmen on foot or on motorbikes following or guiding the herds.
This grassland/prairie seems endless. Withe small river snaking away here and there. Only very...More
Obviously the grassland of this region is the reason we all came here for, and we were not disappointed. This year has been dryer than any previous year so the grass is not so green and thick, otherwise it would have been a fantastic view....More
Before traveling to this region I had no idea that HulunBuir was a region and there were many grasslands in the region, ranging from popular ones 40 minutes away to those at least a three hour drive over partly constructed roads. The grasslands are beautiful....More
In early July my friend and I hired a driver and his taxi and traveled for five days on Hulun Buir Prairie from Hailar to Linjiang, a village bordering with Russia, to Manzhouli and back to Hailar. The driver was very helpful and polite. He...More
Experience the wonders of Inner Mongolia! The Great Land of the Great Genghis Khan. Here is the province or Hulunbuir where you will find all the finest of Grasslands where Cattle graze, the sheep roam freely and the Horses run wild with their masters.
We didn't make prior tour arrangements to visit the Hulunbuir Grasslands before we flew from Beijing to Hailar, Inner Mongolia, but we've heard that we could book a driver through the hotels in Hailar. The hotel only mentioned the mini-buses that take quite a few...More
Vast grassland on gentle rolling hillocks stretching as far as eyes can see, pristine rivers snaking through virgin coniferous forest, unparalleled starry night sky, this trip had it all. We were a group of friends (6), and went around the northern region of Hulunbuir for...More

Hi, i am sorry but I was taken care of by friends who traveled with me, and they contacted their friends who accommodated us. We did not stay in yak, we stayed in Hailar and used it as our center for the trips we made. Distances are huge, nature fantastic. We passed a few settlements that looked like they might offer accommodation. My friends are Chinese, and their friends in Hulunbuir are Chinese/Mongolians, I might be wrong but I think the yak culture is not their culture that they wanted to show a westerner visiting. That said - their hospitality one friendliness was overwhelming. I had a fantastic trip and experience.
Sorry I could not be of help to you. Enjoy the trip.
