We really did not do this place justice and it is because of this that we WILL be returning to visit what I thought was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The wonderful valleys, the gorgeous little villages, the stunning views of the mountains, the wildlife...absolutely everything just made you wonder if you had indeed wandered in to the Garden of Eden. If zip-wires, kloofing and extreme, triple X, to the max activity is your thing then don't bother. If you want to be awestruck by the beauty of nature and soak up the peace and serenity then most definitely, yes.
I mean, I'm sure you could probably do all those other things here too but it seems a shame to break the peace and quiet.

During our week in Thuringen we visited the park twice and really enjoyed it. Beautiful villages and farming communities tucked in to mountains and steep-sided valleys, rivers and more.
Our first walk from Raggal was lovely and the reclining chairs with a view were a highlight for our picnic lunch.
The second was by the river at Murel (?) not far from Raggal and is designed with children in mind - info on trees ( all in German - we were the only English-speaking tourists it seemed, all week!) play areas, rock stepping challenge and, my favourite, hammocks under the trees. Holiday highlight!
After returning to the parking area we drove back by Thuringensberg on the other side of the valley- stopping for another Almdudler!

We really liked hiking, driving through and just enjoying nature - as we had a lot of snow at the time of our visit we felt like we were in winter wonderland! very enjoyable and memorable!
