This area is a must visit any time I go to Oahu! It is frequently crowded on one side, where snorkelers are trying to see the turtles. I go in on the far side of the beach, where its a bit more rocky, but I've...More

Hanauma Bay is so naturally beautiful, that it practically needs no explanation. It wasn't terribly busy the day that we went (on a Sunday, so I was surprised), we found parking easily and found a place on the beach pretty quickly. The water was great,...More

Nice beach, great snorkelling, enough shadow and not too crowded in Oct! Good facilities. Worth paying a visit.

The place is really cozy. You can snorkel where you want in the bay but be careful there is a lot of rocks and a lot of peoples. You can rent snorkel set at the bay.

Hanauma Bay is a nature preserve, which means that the sea life there is protected from fishing and other human harm. The coral reefs are currently going through a (heartbreaking) bleaching event, but the fish, crabs, sea cucumbers, etc. are all flourishing. The beach itself...More
