This downtown area is very charming with a lot of shops selling local art, as well as quite a few restaurants and coffee shops. Plus a couple of vintage hotels. A train goes right through the middle of downtown several times a day. It's a...More
My sister and I travelled to Flagstaff, Arizona by Amtrak, from Washington, DC on September 5, 2019. The tour of downtown Flagstaff was interesting; but what we really enjoyed most was the performance of "Winter's Tale" featured during the Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival. The show was...More
Downtown Flagstaff has a college town feel to it. Easy to walk around. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants. You can take a stroll down historic Route 66 and check out the old train depot that's used as a visitors center right nearby. No free...More
Very interesting to walk the downtown during the day and appreciate the beautiful wall murals and the architecture of the buildings. Also take time to walk around during the night because this town is considered a “dark city” where the lights are dim , so...More

We stayed at the La Quinta Inn & Suites in Flagstaff. It is a new, very clean hotel with many restaurants nearby. (The Olive Garden was exceptionally good when we dined there). This hotel is very close to the downtown area, without all the traffic and train noise. Their prices were reasonable, along with a free hot breakfast, which was included. If we are ever in the Flagstaff, AZ area again, we will be staying at this La Quinta Inn & Suites.
