People watching, cheese steaks, tattoo parlors, boutiques and more. Funky and sophisticated. Can't do Philly without a few hours on South Street.

Great places to eat - Jim's Steaks, Gnocci (half block off South St), and La Bella dolce Italia - Italian deli & gelato), eclectic shops (some not child appropriate, so beware of window shopping), just a fun city vibe.

South Street's the best street when I walk home with you. Oh baby, meet me on South Street, hurry on down. The hippest street in town!

Great place for many different restaurants and bars. One of my favorite restaurants on South street was called the Reef! Excellent food and staff!

We went here based on a coworker recommendation. We were so disappointed -- so many empty store fronts and restaurants closed. There were some really fun store fronts and mosaics -- but these were far between. Now it seems like mostly sex and vape stores.

If you like mosaics, this is the place to be. Located a short jaunt from Septa’s Jefferson Station, wear comfortable walking shoes. You’ll see some hip people walking around. Make sure to venture onto the side-streets and alleyways so as to not miss out on...More

Strolled down South Street and local side streets and really enjoyed this charming district. Lots of small shops and restaurants and some nice squares and places to sit and watch life. Must be wonderful in the summer when the cafes and restaurant put out seats...More

The South Street is not just a street, it's a promenade sight... There are many hotels near-by it. And all of them are rather good, and classy. I would prefer these among others: Alexander Inn, Morris House Hotel... More
