My second time to visit. First time was with my 8th grade science class from Seaford Long Island in 1963. This time as a retired school teacher from Florida. This museum is filled with amazing artifacts, fossils, dinosaur bones, and has IMAX movies and special...More

45 halls of ehhibits, losing a star as it can be quite tricky to navigate, even with the map. Also some of the exhibits were poorly lit.

Great museum for nature geeks! The highlight of our trip was to see the dinosaurs, and in this museum there are a lot of them. We ended up spending 4 hours in the different floors, but one could spend a whole day in AMNH. The...More

The layout is very confusing and it's very busy. If you think you are going to see things from The Night at the Musuem- you better do your research. It feels like a museum that is running down. Building is very cool and there are...More

I wish we hadn't bothered. We especially wanted to see the whales but the whole section was closed off to what looked like a corporate event. That is really poor and I feel like demanding my money back. There's probably a disclaimer somewhere where the...More

I loved this museum, it is laid out so well to really take in all the wondrous exhibits and you have to respect the care that has been put in to make this a must do experience. Love dinosaurs - the Titanosaur left me speechless.

If you're expecting to see the museum featured in Night at the Museum, you'll be disappointed. A lot of the dioramas are outdated and chintzy. But if you like dinosaurs, the top floor is simply amazing. It has the largest collection of dinosaur fossils on...More

We were there on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy. I would expect that a public holiday will be worse. If you are OK with crowds and perhaps miss some of the more detailed displays, make the effort. It is worth it.

The T Rex video is not included in the basic ticket. To see the upper floor with all the dinosaurs you need about 30 minutes
