We walked through this area several times--always beautiful and peaceful. Amazing in a city as large as Boston

The greenway is a pleasant oasis in downtown Boston and occupies the space which was once a busy freeway. It is well maintained and as well as the gardens and places to rest there are also numerous small stalls selling a variety of goods.

This is such a plus for the downtown Boston area. The freeway was relocated under the city with great green space with nice wide sidewalks, fountains, sculptures, and more.

When Boston's major (but aging) transportation artery was dug up and re-imagined below-ground, the above-ground opportunities for Open Space expansion became apparent. Thus was born the greenway belt. This is a 17 acre path of maybe 1.5 miles in length that runs from Chinatown to...More

On our first day we came across the Greenway. It is a beautiful park running down the middle of downtown. They have fountains, chairs and benches for you to stop, relax and enjoy the views. At lunchtime, we saw food trucks there so you could...More

It's not very large, but it's a lovely place to walk, sit, and enjoy the water fountains. If you're visiting the historic area of Boston, you'll most likely pasd through here near the Hard Rock Cafe.

Personally I wished Boston had used this spot better, because I think it's doesn't flow as well as it could have but overall I find myself walking along the Greenway often.

This is a walkway with pavement and a lot of grass that goes for about a half mile along a route atop a traffic tunnel. There are activities going on all the time. There is a wonderful beer garden about mid-way along the walkway. Lots...More

Located across the street from Fanuel Hall, this is a delight fun replacement for the elevated expressway with gardens, craft stalls and food trucks.

While visiting Boston we admired all the Green Space all over Boston. We walked all through the Rose Kennedy Greenway & other areas while exploring Boston. A big expensive project from what I understand and way over budget but the Green Space looks and is...More

The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with
historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through
one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston
Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling
statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the
pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where,
during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting
children and eager tourists through the pond. Have

As the others have said, the sculpture, which is suspended high in the air by wires that are barely visible, can be viewed 24/7. A bright sunny day really brings out all the different shades of blues, oranges, etc. On windy... More
