we did not see any turtles, but the fish and coral were amazing! the coral here is the brightest we saw all over bug island

Very close to the city and enjoyable place for all ages. Enjoy some shade and have a picnic. Hilo has a rocky coastline but this gives you a place to swim. Kona side of the Island have the big beach available.At least this is here...More

This was a lovely area--very tropical looking. The waves were quite rough on this day, but it added to the beauty. Nice area to spend some time viewing the scenery. The black sand was a drawing point for our visit.

Not far and yes but they are about 45-60 minutes away by car. Kaimu has one you can hike to but it's no good for swimming, although it does have a bar and food and if you go Wednesday nights there is a big market and live... More

Folks bring their own without any hastle. Pick one up at the nearby Walmart. I did not notice any public barbie stuff.
