Much more than I expected. The fort is alot larger than it looks from the parking lot. Absolutely amazing how this fort was made. The history is fascinating! Self guided tour is wonderful. You can take your time to read and enjoy the history of...More

You walk through the rooms of this fort, with no guided tour. The natives are very proud of this tour and all told us to go. Not too thrilling.

It’s a good place to learn history. The re-enactments are very cool. The cannons do fire at certain times and will get your attention no matter where you are in town. Parking is a pain so park your car in the offsite garage they built...More

Ended up not going inside. $15/person. I realize it's a historical monument and is expensive to maintain, but that just seemed a little too much money to walk around the inside. You walk around the entire monument outside for free though.

This was an excellent place to visit. A must see if you are visiting St Agustine. The tour guides are great and knowledgeable. It is a very interesting place to visit if you love the history of this country.

Forget the "invented" historical sites in St. Augustine and visit the Castillo. Very knowledgeable people on site that are happy to talk with you about real history. I would recommend this place to everyone. There is parking available right near the Castillo at reasonable prices....More

Enjoyed the visit. Lots of cannons shown and history placards. Not much place to get my veteran 87 yr old dad out of blazing heat though

It is a self guided tour. I do remember staff being there to answer questions but I'm not sure of their hours.

Sure if you just want to see the outside of a fort. The grounds are nice and it is on the water which can be seen from other areas. I would have been disappointed not to see the inside, the rooms, the history and information... More
