Get there before they open so you can get busy right away, as there is easily 2-3 days worth of things to experience there. You can pay the general admission and take the basic bus tour as others suggested, but the more in depth tours are worth the money. We personally did the fly with an astronaut tour which was pricey but super cool plus there was a nice lunch included. Enjoy!

There looks to be a bus that runs from the Disney area with two pick ups on International drive - one at the Rosen Inn and the other at I-Drive 360 shortly after 8am and vista around $32 (based on a UK sterling conversion). You can find details on the travelrepublic website. Click on the “Attractions” tab, then “Kennedy Space center” under “Florida Attractions” and “transport only” should be the last listed ticket option.
