Definitely a place for fans of Hollywood but for the rest its just another street with cinemas & lots of eating places & gigantic souvenir shops, perhaps the biggest in the world! Go there if you are into movies or just to tick mark it...More
Just walking around the area like Chinese Theatre and Walk of Fame. It’s over rated in my opinion. Be careful don’t go there too late at night as got lots of drunk and homeless people. Just hang around the main area and don’t walk too...More
This is probably one of those things everyone needs to see once. It’s fun looking at the stars on the walk and seeing the Chinese theater and Dolby theater and the souvenir shops are pretty over the top. Other than that, it’s very crowded and...More
The Hollywood walk of fame is disappointing as I didn't think their would be so many homeless people and though it would be cleaner but did see lots of interesting characters.Their are miles for stars on the footpath it was interesting to see them and...More
Met a cool dude from germany and we walked the whole thing and talked took pics of the stars.. It was fun lots to eat, had some huge slice pizza almost like NYC but they could have lost the thick crust. China theater was great,...More
To echo a review from 25th Aug by Jo, Hollywood Blvd is a complete mess. The stars themselves are difficult to pick out, mostly because you are trying to keep safe, but they are not maintained either.
It's a dreadful street, littered with beggars, undesirables,...More
The stretch of stars is very crowded and we expected this. Did not expect the strew of beggars and street vendors being borderline aggressive towards you if you refuse to buy their produce or pay to take pictures with the costumed characters, half the stars...More
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night
partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
I agree with the first answer, and a little bit with the 2nd. We stayed in West Hollywood rather than Hollywood itself as it is safer. To see the big Hollywood sign, the best view is from Griffiths Observatory.
It depends on your budget and what you wish to do. Downtown has some great Classic hotels abs the area around hollywood has some well known places. I have stayed in both areas as well as near a few beach cities. I would... More

I agree with most here. Depending on your budget, better to find a nicer area to stay and visit H Boulevard during the day and early evening. There's a bit to see there, but mostly quite tacky, depends what you are into of course. But Hollywood and Bev Hills etc have a few spots of interest. Get on a cheap tour and get a bit of local info. Don't get too excited about H Boulevard though.
