Visited HBSP to surf fish as the tide came in at 10:30 am. This beach had fewer surfers this day (Friday) compared to Bolsa Chica. The beach is about 250 yards from the parking lot so it’s a bit of a chore to carry stuff...More
A wonderful spot to spend the day. We cycled for a few hours from Newport to Bolsa Chica. Loved seeing so many people outside enjoying the water and the path--cyclers, runners, families, skaters. A great community feeling. Bonus points for many free public restrooms!
Really nice beach, with a great pier and good restaurants close by. Parking is really convenient but can get pricey. The sunsets are worth it though, so this is a perfect beach to stop for a nice walk, drink and sunset...

Gone are the days that we could go to this beach at night and camp out. Now activities are very restricted. It is still a fun place, but now, very, very crowded and a favourite of many. It is my favourite beach in the USA.
