Most known, photographed and recognized part of Petra park. Equally impressive from the ground directly in front of it as well as from above lookouts (there are two at least, one on the left, which is subject to hiring local guide prior to entrance or...More

After walking through the great sand stone Kenyon, you reach this beautiful carved facade . Looks like a building but it’s only a facade and closed for entrance. Anyway very impressive 2000 years old attraction

This is the most photographed place inside Petra. But one should know this is not the only one that would leave you in wide eyed wonder. But a 2km walk through the siq ending up at the sight of the Treasury is mind-boggling.

This is the main reason that people come to Jordan. It is approached through the Siq (canyon) which offers a tantilising view as you approach.A beautiful sight carved from the red sandstone built over two thousand years ago. Be prepared for crowds, hustlers and hawkers!

Amazing part of Petra. When walking by we can feel the history. Very interesting! Always wear hat and decent sunscreen at Petra. Take a bottle of water with you.

An awe inspiring site as you finish walking the 25 min walk from the gate of Petra through the mountain pass. This sets the scene for the superbly restored city of Petra, supposedly 30000 people lived in the many carved caves. A must visit.

This is the signature site for Petra. It is a must if you visit the site. It is a comfortable walk and there are many sites along the way. Enjoy.

This is the tomb of some forgotten ruler of the kingdom Petra. Stunningly carved right into the side of a red sandstone (?) mountain. The former residents of Petra vanished millenia ago, and the tombs and homes they left behind have been thoroughly looted. But...More

This wasn’t me talking about young boys being threatening. Yes they bother you to sell stuff but there in no way threatening. It’s been a great experience.

I would recommend renting a car and traveling by car in Jordan. It’s much easier and safe. Enjoy your trip. Also make sure to catch Petra by Night. Amazing experience!
