My husband and I were very disappointed in Red Rock State Park. The entry fee was steep ($7 PER PERSON), two out three river bridges for trail access were out of commission, and the ridge abuts suburban sprawl and neighborhoods. Eagle’s Nest outlook has view...More

State Park should be a must on your "Let's go to Sedona" list. If you are a photo junkie like me; late evening is awesome photography time for Cathedral Rock. The park is lovely, huge trees, with Oak Creek running through it. Many of the...More

A large, beautiful park, with plenty of hiking trails. They even have a little museum to learn more about it in the visitor center. You can spend a lot of time here looking at nature. I was surprised to see open prairies turn into creeks,...More

Pretty barren wasteland, but oddly interesting. There are some trails that wind through half desert half grassland terrain with stunning red rock formations. This isn't the greatest place I've seen but it's pretty cool. Nearby Sedona, AZ is also a pretty cool town.

If you go here, take the hike yourself as you can complete the hike in a reasonable amount of time. I chose to do a guided tour since I was solo and hesitant about trekking by myself. The guided tour was to be 1.5 -...More

For a modest entrance fee you can visit this quiet and beautiful park. There is an interesting visitor/interpretive center with a helpful staff. This is a hiking-only park and also a pack out everything you pack in site. Nice place.

Different parks have a range of do's and don'ts. The best thing to do is check the brochure for that particular park. If you go to the Visitor Center they can help you locate which parks are best for dogs.
