One of the most beautiful areas ever in the gorgeous country that is Costa Rica, The “Ticos” are the friendliest, most helpful and kind people I have ever met! Do yourself a favor and journey to Playa Hermosa! You won’t be disappointed!
I honestly did not know what to expect from Costa Rica in general or Playa Hermosa specifically. However, we figured it was worth a go. You never know until you try it for yourself, right?

Black sand beach. Wasn’t too crowded when we were there. Plenty of people offering different services such as fishing, snorkeling, jet skis ,etc. Water is pretty clear once you get past the waves. Nice place to take a stroll along the beach.
I like this beach because there are not many people ever on it. Good for water activities and fishing. It provides a wonderful view of some of the islands and mountains pointing out to the ocean. Easy to fall asleep while listening to the waves...More

Hello. You can easily enjoy the beach at Playa Hermosa and Coco in one day. Possibly even Ocotal. There really isn't any public transportation that will help. You may choose to get a taxi from Playa Hermosa over to Coco. It is a short drive. About 15 minutes. I would not recommend a rental car. There are ATV's and other types of motor bikes you can rent there. It is a tico town that is good for some small shopping and eating. A couple of larger grocery stores are there as well. Panama would be too far to travel to seeing how you are only staying 4 nights. Easy to get snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boards there in Playa Hermosa. Many people will offer tours. Just be careful. You may need to pay in cash but, only pay when you are on or at the end of your tour. It is a beautiful place and you do not have to go far to enjoy it.
