The best part of this tour is the ice house that is in the sidewalk out side of the establishment. You can walk down and see where they stored the ice all summer.

This is a restaurant that still serves a 'Colonial' era menu of foods that were eaten opened in 1796. There is also a historic museum that has items from the American colonial times in the restored inns rooms. It served as a meeting place for...More

We were lucky enough to be here on a day when "junior" docents were giving the tour. These kids were really great. Totally enjoyable experience.

I spent the night here with a Girl Scout program. They told us over and over that it wasn't haunted, but I later found out it was one of the most haunted buildings in Virginia. Inside was also quite pretty. Can't get past the ghost,...More

A nice place to learn about the social outings of colonial America. Meals were hearty, there was a place to party and to spend the night if things got too wild. Quite historic and certainly worth the low price of admission.
