This is the "must do" trip for anyone staying in Puno. You need to be reasonably mobile as there is a degree of jumping on and off boats required. The people of the islands are very welcoming and unusually for Peru let you take as...More

Wow, this was excellent. We were in a group touring around, we all boarded our boat to the islands. The inhabitants give you a wonderful welcome, they are so friendly. This place is fascinating, please purchase some of their merchandise.

My family and I took a tour with a local agency in the city of Puno and seeing this floating city of Uros was an amazing experience.

Defenetely you need to be here, is really impressive to be on one of those islands, the people shares with you their culture, most of them speaks at least 3 languages, aymara, quechua and spanish.

We went there by kayak and it was very enjoyable. Once we got on the floating reeds, there were a lot of tourists. Obviously even prices are expensive when compared to other places in Peru.

The islands are interesting to visit and to see how people live on them. If you get a chance to take a ride in their reed boats for 10 soles you should as it is pretty fun.

Loved the tour st Uros, need more time there. Climbing the other island just to rant lunch was not appreciated. There should be some attraction, rather than struggling uphill I think there are plenty of 2nd floating islands to visit. They should offer a full...More

The history is interesting. The construction of the islands is instructive. The setting is fabulous. Everything else is commercial. The ride with the reed boat was spoiled by very young kids, singing songs and asking money for it. They turn these kids into beggars at...More

Tour boat organized by hotel that goes to Uros then after the tour of floating islands it goes to Taquile island. Careful at the floating islands as it is more of a tourist trap but Taquile is exceptional and worth the trip

I didn't find it 'touristy'. In fact I liked to contribute to the community. I had a 2.5 hour tour, which was enough for me, but it would be nicer to stay on the island than stay in Puno town. I spoke to one couple who... More

The boats are mostly leaving in the morning, I guess spending a night in Puno instead is the option.
