We went to visit Masada with our guests from Chicago, one of whom was first time in Israel. The number of tourists from all over the world was enormous. It was hard waiting in line for the cable car, but once you arrive at the fortress you don't feel the pressure of the crowd.

High up on a dry rock is the Masada Fortress. Can be visited via Funicular or by a walking path. If you are not up to it I recommend the former. There is an underground parking for the funicular visitors, restaurant and gift shops. Once on the top you can visit several remnants
