Wonderful views if you climb up to the top of the fortress and look down on the town and archaeological remains dating back to the Incas. During the Spanish conquest, it was a stronghold for Inca resistance. In the town, there was a charming and colourful...More

Pricey for what ya get, but if bundled you may get a deal. Views are incredible and beautiful up and down to see the valley. Suggest staying in Ollantaytambo for a few days, then pick and choose times when crowds are lower.

It's a very interesting site in the centre of Ollantaytambo. It's worth getting a guide as you'll get loads of information and give you a very good understanding of the Inca's history. Quite nice views of the village from the top

The Ollantaytambo ruins were amazing and definitely worth visiting. It is a popular tour destination, hence go in the morning to avoid the crowds. Also if you plan to visit several attractions in Cusco, buy the Tourist Ticket that is valid for 10 days and...More

A remarkable site and it is the only Inca town that is still inhabited. Stone streets preserve the Inca architecture.

Ollantaytambo ruins are well worth the climb to the top for the views of the town itself and the store rooms on the opposite cliff and the face in the cliffs. Another great example of Inca engineering and terracing. It only takes 5 minutes to...More

Extraordinary example of Inca engineering and construction expertise. This is a remarkable site - lots of climbing but so worth it. Make sure you save enough time to wander the streets of Ollantaytambo - a living Inca city. Fabulous.

This used to be a small community of about 1,000 inhabitants in Incan times. A lot of reviews mention a temple. Actually, the temple has never been built. Pizarro's soldiers chased the population to the Amazon forest, before the stones were cut and transported from...More

We did not hire the guide, but they are not expensive and can give you lots of good information as well as suggestions of other sites to visit. If I recall correctly, the guides charged about 80 soles for a tour of the site. More
