The citadel is a must see site in Amman but if you have the time then it is advised to go to Jerash, a much better historical site than this.

Nice site, kept well, beautiful views over whole Amman. Come early to avoid crowds... there is a bar on the site that serves coffee and ice creams

A taxi to the citadel should cost no more than 4-5 JOD. For touring from there I would recommend looking at Lonely Planets excellent self-guided tour of Amman which is available freely (Links are not allowed here). I used... More
