We loved the easy going beach vibe here! Went twice on a seven day vacation and would go more often next time. First time was a Thursday and it was super busy and we were there by 11:00am. Went again the next day (Friday) because...More

Turtle Bay/ Laniakea Beach; NOT Turtle Bay Resort but further up the cost and you’ll find paradise. Large green turtles feeding on the algae feet away from you. The most incredible beach you are ever likely to find. This is truly heaven on Earth. I...More

We stayed in Waikiki, and while it was nice, it was a lot like any other big city. North shore is more what you think of when you picture Hawai’i. Beautiful beaches and scenery. Still “country”. Good food and nice people.

I've always stayed in the city, but this time we stayed on the North Shore at Turtle Bay. It was SO beautiful, peaceful, and inviting. We were central to some of the North Shores greatest attractions, and still just an hour from the city. I...More

I visited Oahu for the first time and stayed in Waikiki. I liked the city, but next time I will spend way more time on the North Shore. Better beaches, better food, and a better experience of what Hawaii should be.

Our tour stopped on the North Shore but only briefly. We ended up renting a car and going back. We found several beaches worth stopping at and one even had four sea turtles on it. Amazing to see them up close and in person. There...More

We had 3 days at the Marriott North Shore. Being 63 and 70 we were not here for swimming, surfing, or snorkeling - just wanted to admire some scenery and walk on a beach or two, sample some local food favorites. The Kamehameha Hwy is...More

We stayed in Waikiki and took a day trip to the North Shore. I was excited to see the huge waves and some surfing. Imagine my disappointment when I realized that the water was smooth and calm and there was no surfing! Apparently, the huge...More

I enjoyed the beaches in North shore more than Waikiki Beach. These are the beaches I imagined when I think of Hawaii. Less busy, and more enjoyable. Soft sand, clean beaches, and you will spot an occasional sea turtle! Great locations for snorkeling.

Afternoon is the worst time for traffic. Early morning-8-10 am is a better time. Traffic can be bad at any time depending on the day.
