Lots to see on the Road to Hana, but not for the nervous drivers. The pavement was good, narrow shoulders, so many sharp turns and one-way bridges, but still worth the drive. The worst part of the road was the part from Hana to Haleakala...More

Careful driving necessary on small roads with many single spots to share with oncoming traffic. But, very special, and many jungle and waterfall hiking spots and trails. Maui at its best. Go to Hana, see the black beach.

When I first heard about the Road to Hana, I thought it was just some overdramatized description of a mountainous road. I mean, we are from Colorado, how bad could this road be, comparatively? Well, the Road to Hana is an extremely difficult road to...More

The Hana Highway is made for folks who love a narrow, curvey road with gorgeous views. I believe the highway is rank as one of the best drives in the world. It was enjoyable, though I think I had some equally scenic drives in Iceland....More

Great time to practice patience as this curvy and sometimes congested trip will take some time. Beautiful jungle surroundings but if you're the driver, remember to pay attention to the road. Many bridges and one lane roads ahead. Worth the trip maybe the first two...More

We used the gypsy app for the road to Hana trip, stopping at the main ones suggested and one or two others use the facilities. Plan on a whole day when going, we didn’t stop a lot and there was not a lot of traffic...More

The roads are narrow but if you take your time and travel during daylight, you will be rewarded with spectacular views and places to visit. Get the Shaka Guide app on your phone (no data needed while on tour) and you will thank me you...More

We drove ourselves instead of doing a tour. It is a slow road (10-15mph) very windy road but the scenery is fabulous. There are coves, beaches and waterfalls in so many places. And be sure to stop at Black Sand Beach. Its amazing and so...More

It’s the yoga twins car. One died , the other lived and in prison. I think 60 minutes did a story on them. We had a private tour guide who filled us in.

Yes you can do just part of it. Charles Lindbergh's grave is as far as you can go in your rental car without voiding the contact. If you want to do the whole thing do so as part of a tour. I suggest doing it as part of a... More

Save the money and drive yourself and use a tour app. If you come across a local let them pass and you’ll be fine.
