This was my favorite Memorial! Beautiful waterfalls, beautiful sights. Loved that you could see the Lincoln Memorial in a distance over the Lakes. Definitely a must-see if you're going to Washington DC!

Very beautiful place. Well designed Memorial, easy to see and move around. Fountains are nice and all states represented.

Such a somber and powerful memorial. The wall with the stars is very moving and a great illustration of the sacrifice made to preserve or freedoms.

Wish this were more of an iconic memorial like the Korean or Viet Nam but it is very nice with the water features. Just does not capture the mood of the war for me.

This is right at the start of the reflecting pools. There is a ton to see here for the size of the memorial. All the states are represented. This should be a stop along the way to the Lincoln memorial.

This monument is one of the most beautiful in DC. The water feature is so peace and the location makes for wonderful pictures. We ran into a huge group of Veterans here and it was great to be able to take their pictures.

Organise a visit as part of the walking route of the monuments on the Mall. This was our second visit to Washington and we thought that there were a lot more tourists that previously, so you might want to visit early if you don't like...More

I visited in the afternoon and came back at dusk to take pictures of the illuminated fountains. By day, this is a very impressive monument to the immense effort and sacrifice of the American nation in World War II. At either end are markers and...More

The "Washington DC National Mall, Monuments and Memorials Walking Guide (Washington DC City Walking Guide Series) Kindle Edition" is a decent download for just $3.99. You may want to give it a try.
