We love doing free tours by foot when in large historical cities. Our guide, a young lady, I think her name was Ingleborg who regaled us in tales of the cities development. My husband is a bit of a history buff and she managed to...More

So much fun to walk around and check out all the super cool buildings. So many shops and restaurants. Loved the cobblestone streets and the quaint feel of this area. The canal was pretty dry but was still cool to see.

Take a stroll around Georgetown University and the neighborhood around it. Super fun to eat and enjoy the night out. Lots of neighborhoods to see and canal walk is great. Lots of restaurants everywhere

Our group thought we would see cute boutiques. We were all dismayed to find more name brand shops. Would not recommend. You have many more choices available to discover.

Took a hop on/hop off boat ride to Georgetown on Sunday morning for brunch and a chill down from DC. It's very, very popular and riverside very expensive too for drinks. That said its much more chilled and a great place to watch the world...More

I used to visit Georgetown in the 1980s and 90s. One of the attractions was a street traffic officer who had a flashy way of directing traffic at the M street intersection. Anyway the street seems to have deteriorated in facade appearance, quality of shops...More

We stayed in Georgetown during our visit to DC. It is well connected to downtown via the 30S/N metrobus, and has a nice "vibe" of its own. It has a great waterfront, some nice restaurants and friendly residents. we enjoyed our 4 days here.

Georgetown has certainly become even greater place for a walk with the beautification of its waterfront, and the park even on a warm summer day invites for an enjoyable walk.

Super easy. The Canals are about 2-3 blocks off M Street. You just stroll along them. The waterfront is another 3-4 blocks beyond that. Enjoy!

It has been a while; however, the metro stop at Key Bridge is an easy walk into the middle of Georgetown. May want to Google ‘Washington DC Metro’ to see the updated map. Hope you have fun!
