Parking was $25. I was surprised. But the grounds and everything there was so clean and well taken care of. It had been a rainy cloudy morning. We went anyway thinking Why not enjoy the zoo. The shops and surroundings were more than expected. We...More

This was our first visit to the National Zoo and we were very pleased with our experience. First, we used the DC Metro for our transportation. It was much less expensive to take the Metro than to park our vehicle on site for $25. We...More

We enjoyed a cool, sunny day at the zoo. The grounds are well maintained. Many of the animals were hiding from the tourists but we were fortunate enough to see a panda, cheetahs, a wolf, seals, and lions. One of the lions gave us a...More

The zoo always provides a great venue for families, or adults who want to appreciate the world's varied creatures. We enjoyed the elephants, lions, reptiles, and other magnificent animals. The buildings on the grounds are as historic and impressive as the animals. The reptile house...More

My son and I made a return trip here. We did not drive to it, we took their Metro System. (Probably far more parking spaces and you do not need to deal with city traffic.) The zoo was very clean, the staff was very helpful,...More

There were some nice animals there; for example, the lion and the gorilla. There were too many empty stations though. For the most part, the animals were well displayed with multiple viewing angles. The layout can be confusing at times and I felt like I...More

Not going to go into too much detail as others have covered the zoo pretty well with their reviews. We parked in one of the lots, literally the last one at the very bottom so we worked our way through the zoo that way. First...More

The National Zoological park has quite a variety of animals to see ranging from birds to elephants. Parking ($$) is on site though one of 5 lots that I have noted and access to the zoo grounds is reasonably close to each lot. Admission to...More

Wandered in with a curious 6 year old and delighted he could see most of the exhibits, find plenty to keep the whole party interested and happy. Delighted with the circulation about the area on a Saturday afternoon. I wish there were more benches, but...More

There is a new free zoo shuttle bus from Woodley Park Station — so definitely use that metro station. Shuttle will stop in front of zoo and inside it. You can return to metro from either stop (shuttle will operate through... More

To beat the heat, arrive early, and pay the $25 to park within a hundred yards of the enterance. Drive in on the North road, at 815am, we were the third car in the lot.
