Take the Tram from the Lower City, and explore the many shops and restaurants that abound up there. The buildings are part of the lore here.

So much eye candy - even though we didn't take a guided tour, we were dazzled by the architecture and ambience. Get in shape before you go!

It's a hike from the lower part of town to get here, but it's worth it for the sights and views. There is an options to take a funicular to the top without having to walk up so many stairs.

Still reminds me of Old World Europe, but has some modern buildings. Traffic Police (not real Police) will question you if you are loitering. Greats views of down below and the port.

The upper town within the city walls is well worth a visit. Fantastic views over the St. Lawrence valley and many interesting buildings which add character.

Most of Upper Town is delineated by the roads "Grande Alley" and "Avenue Honore Mercier." The remnants of the Citadel rampart walls and Battlefields Park are also good geographical markers to make this distinction clearer. Sets of "escaliers" (outdoor stairs) connect (and separate) Upper Town...More

Yes, there is a small elevator at the top ( hold the button all the way down and an exit via a small pathway to avoid some steps at the bottom.

We walked around the upper and lower town but took a city tour with a tour company to see where we wanted to spend more time. You can call in the visitor centre and get plenty of information that will help you.
