The best rooms of course face the inner Harbour. It was great to visit with friends and show them favorite spots in Parliament and along government Street. We enjoyed exploring The Empress and it’s architecture and shops. Staff was very interactive.

The service in the Empress Hotel is absolutely superb! Nothing is overlooked by the gracious staff. We particularly loved the Empress "Embassador" canine, Winston. He is a 3 year old yellow lab! He wanders freely about the lobby of the hotel and greets all the...More

Real old fashioned afternoon tea with outstanding service and extremely good sandwiches, cakes and pastries served in a very civilised atmosphere and plush surroundings make this an event to try out. The hotel is outstanding and there is a world beating chandalier to look out...More

The high tea was incredible- however- we were under the assumption that the dress code from the website was in force and it definitely was not. Lots of folks in sightseeing gear. That’s okay with us, but we wish we had worn that too since...More

Instead of having the High Tea which is amazing but rather more than we wished to eat, we went to the Bar and had afternoon tea there with just some nibbles. Then we had a good look around and decide it would be a great...More

It is quite something to walk through; you are transported to another age. WE wanted to say we had had tea there, but found the afternoon high tea a bit overwhelming in price and calories. We were directed to the Lounge (bar) where we were...More

Great place to hang out or for a meal. Friendly staff. Dinner here was delicious but of course pricey. Drink prices not too bad.

We stopped in after our $178 tour to Buchart Gardens. Felt a little cheated because the gardens at the Empress were so beautiful. Had a couple of drinks at the bar in a lovely setting.

The Empress Hotel is a very elegant hotel and has it place in Canadian history. Whether it is for a stay, meal, high tea or just a drink one should visit the Empress Hotel, a real beauty.

I usually enter through the Tea Room, which in my opinion, is quite nice. I think you came and went through a side entrance, which as you noticed is not impressive. That being said, the charm of the Empress are the grounds... More
