magnificent structure. well preserved. one of the highlights of chichen itza. interesting bird sound produced from it. no shades near the pyramid. too hot and humid. protect yourself from the sun. bring water. put sunblock, hat and sunglasses. awesome sight.

Main reason for visiting Chichen Itza being the main structure. Unfortunately you can’t climb any more but be amazed anyway.

This is the main building at the Chichen Itza site. Lots of other things to do there, and lots of people wanting to sell stuff.

Our tour was from Cozumel, so the bus started from Playa del Carmen after we got off the ferry. It took 2 hours by road to get to Chichen Itza from Playa del Carmen, which now seems faster than the Cancun road trip... More
