A great hiking trail. It is relatively flat. It follows a stream. At the end is a waterfall. We were blocked from the upper trail while we were there as a rock has slid and blocks the path to the upper trail at the waterfall...More

Not very far to walk so this one is easy for most people. Well worth checking out . A small waterfall you can walk behind.

it would be a wonderful place when there is more water flowing, but the waterfall was just a drip and the pools were puddles.

Unfortunately, the Trail from the Lodge just goes to the Lower Emerald Pool. There is a rock slide just beyond the Pool that destroyed part of the trail going further. But, nice hike and great destination anyway. The hike is pleasant with a bit of...More

We weren’t that impressed with this trail. Especially since upper is closed. Great for kids. A lot of incline. But rest a lot if needed and drink water so altitude doesn’t get to you. Mule deer and chipmonks on the trail

when we visited Zion, the path to the upper emerald pools was closed; but they had an out-an-back trail that included lower and middle (the trail has a name, but i think it's new, and i don't find it in any of the guides or...More

This is a nice moderate hike to the lower pools. Water cascades from the rock above. A large rock slide has the mid and upper pools closed indefinitely. Still worth to hike.

Very nice, easy hike to the lower pools, and getting off the road to experience the land a little. People on the trail with canes and navigating it well. Turkeys and deer around for added entertainment. Not the best choice for those who want a...More

Hike the Emerald pools. No rain for over a month and a mud slide blocking the upper pool from the lower pool caused.the pools to be dry. No waterfall. Disappointed, but the easy hike was still beautiful!!

No, you don't need a guide for these hikes. (I don't know about The subway). For Narrows you might need some equipment that you can rent near the entrance to the Park. Emerald Pools is an easy hike if you start from the... More

I think it will depend on your ability and determination. I am 61 and have a bad knee but I am in good shape otherwise. I took lots of breaks and my daughter helped me down the steeper parts of the upper pool trail (going... More
