Make sure the water level is up enough to be able to navigate freely throughout the reserve. Home to the famous Gaspar and Tarpon fish. Catch and Release fishing only.

Boat ride on the Rio Frio was just what the Doctor ordered. Lots of birds including Kingfishers, Anhinga, Herons and many more. Three species of monkeys and the Basilisk Lizard also known as the Jesus Christ Lizard.

If you are adventurous, just drive to Cano Negro...its about an hour drive off the main road through farmland. The road is gravel and dirt. Use the WAZE APP and head straight into town. The road basically ends at the... More
