It is a place where you have a kind of flashback how did your ancestors live. It’s like a stroke, imagining them at this place - without any technologies, mechanisms, electricity, etc. Really interesting experience: just you, mountains and stones. What will you do?)

Should be oldest stonehenge/observatory in the world. Some info tables available. Nice surroundings. Be aware that on one side of the road-more seen there is a modern art exhibition, could be mistaken for the real stonehenge. But this one is on the other side of...More

Cool place to go. There are two legends as to what this place was for. The first one says it's an observatory and the second one says that this was a cemetery and pagan temple for rituals was in the center. In any case there...More

The farmer of the field next to the site was applying the slash and burn technique just as I got there. It was impossible to go near because of the enormous black smelly smoke and wind blowing it all over. The caretaker did not seem...More

Beautiful place with good views, the rocks are more primitive than England but they are much older, you can see how it was meant to look but age has cause deterioration, still a magnificent structure and a site to see.

Armenia offers various landscapes and sceneries and this region didn't disappoint. The Karahundj in itself is worth the visit to see the local dolmen, but the landscapes around are breathtaking. Lots of cattle grazing, fields etc.... walking around the site is peaceful and worth spending...More

Karahundj or Armenian Stonehenge a certain place to visit in Armenia. Massive rocks being an observatory of more than 5000 years old. Hard rocks are drilled so smooth and precise and very close to the edge, which would be hard to reperform even with modern...More

Karahunj is stunning in late June. The surrounding mountains are green and covered with flowers, which completes the scene. The monument itself is very surreal and a testament to just how long the rich the history of Armenia is. It's easy to include in a...More
