Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- SusanM3190 contributionsThe best way to see Melbourne's street artReally loved this remarkably interesting Melbourne CBD graffiti tour. It was great to hear about art from a graffiti artist’s perspective. We saw some wonderful art around the laneways, including many small details that we might have missed without our guide. My favourite part of the tour was visiting Blender Studios, meeting some of the resident artists and seeing their amazing work. The wine and cheese were also appreciated. Thanks to our guide Ben for being such an interesting and talented guide!Written 14 September 2024
- DarrenS28480 contributionsTop stuff! This tour was ace! A very interesting and insightful way to experience and learn about street art (instead of just taking selfies in front it). Highly recommended!Written 7 September 2024
- RodBush0 contributionsStreet Art Tour - great experience. We went on the street at tour and had a really good time. The guide been was friendly accommodating and informative. We saw some parts of Melbourne that we never seen before following that we were back to the studio and saw how they work as a cooperative group - inspirational for anybody who is an artist. Thoroughly recommend!Written 22 August 2024
- V9903MQkarend0 contributionsEveryone must do this tourWhat an amazing tour, loved hearing about how graffiti has a language and walking the hidden laneways of Melbourne. To top it off we got to see the studio where a range of artists worked. Thank you Ben Barek, an amazing artist himself, who was out guide.Written 21 August 2024

- lisafT3232AU0 contributionsHighly recommend- a different viewFabulous tour & well worth a couple of hours. Great opportunity to see the colourful side of Melbourne and connect with artwork in the city’s laneways. Tour ends at a local studio and proceeds support the street artists.Written 24 July 2024
- harmony_peaks0 contributionsGo! Will open up your eyes to the world of street artGreat street art tour. It opened my eyes to street art, the conversations street artists have with each other on the walls, the meaning behind some of it, and their culture. Well worth the time. Our tour guide, a street artist himself, was insightful and immersed in the scene for a few decades. Good tour for teenagers as well.Written 6 July 2024
- danaronan0 contributionsA backstage pass to Melbourne's street art.The tour was fantastic. I took three teenage kids who are hard to impress and Ben had them enthralled from the moment we walked into Hosier Lane. The tour felt like we'd gone backstage at the theatre! And having someone who is an artist themselves explain the people, the art, the techniques - was a gift really. Ben's humility knew no bounds - it's only once we got back to Bender Studios and saw his art that we realised so many of the pieces we saw on walls were his. What a privilege to spend a few hours in his world. Thank you. An unforgettable afternoon.Written 2 July 2024
- racquellita0 contributionsHighlight of Melbourne visitExcellent tour. Guide was super entertaining and really informative and it was great to have a look around the blender studio and meet the artists! Highly recommendWritten 22 June 2024
- Q7122HQlukej0 contributions10/10 - A must do for those traveling through melbourneAmazing insight into the culture of street art/graffiti in Melbourne. Our artist guide barek was super knowledgeable about the different lanes and how they evolved over time. We learned about the individual artists behind many different pieces, the techniques they use, and when pieces were done. The final stop at Blender Studios was the cherry on top. Drinks/snacks with a glimpse into the artist studios themselves. The walk itself is suitable for families as the area is flat and we stopped regularly to discuss the art.Written 18 June 2024
- luciesK6254IO0 contributionsStreet art.Highly recommend. Insightful, intriguing and entertaining. Learned so much from the guide Ben who is a street artist himself. Loved it.Written 15 June 2024
- Malleeboyz0 contributionsStunning interpretive tour of globally famous Melbourne street art.As a street art fan and photographer already very familiar with Melbourne street art this tour was beyond my expectations. It was like having access to the inner sanctum as our artist guide Matt interpreted the works, backgrounded the artists, explained processes, talked street art politics and discussed the nature of art. We were treated to a prime selection of CBD street art, from tiny intricate stencil works to monumental murals. A tram ride blew away some of our international tourists. The tour finishes at home base at Blender Studios with warm hospitality and the opportunity to meet artists and see their work spaces. I can't recommend this tour highly enough.Written 23 May 2024
- DRHuffman0 contributionsGreat experience! Our guide, Tom, was so enthusiastic about the street art. We learned so much and saw great street art examples. Great thing to do while visiting Melbourne!Written 30 April 2024
- oclynn10 contributionsInformative and interesting and fun! This was a great way to really see the street art and learn about the street art culture here-and more about the artists themselves. Great idea to add the studio tour at the end-well done!Written 11 April 2024

I went on two amazing Street Art tours in Melbourne. One of the CBD and one of Fitzroy. As these tours are led by working artists -- and you can see their work on the tours -- they provide a unique lens to view the vibrant Melbourne street art scene. Street art in Melbourne helps make Melbourne an alive and fantastic city -- and not just because Business Insider says it is one of the most "liveable" cities, if not the most, "liveable" city in the world. Street Art and "liveability" can and often are in conflict. So having two working artists with different perspctives, in two different areas of the city, make these tours "must dos" in Melbourne. Dan led the CBD tour -- while other walking tours of Melbourne will show you the city's greatest street art hits, Dan breaks down not only the art but the entire cultural/political significance and puts the entire city in perspective. He is funny and audacious and brings you into a secret world hidden in plain sight. Ben's tour of Fitzroy was based more on the artwork itself, and less on the politics, but was equally fascinating. Though Fitzroy is out of the CBD, it is close enough to he gentrifying, revitalizing and becoming more and more expensive -- leading street artists even further out. But there are still amazing things to see and Ben has a keen eye for changes. He even did some work while on the tour. The CBD tour ends at Blender Studios where you can paradoxically see street art in the studio and not on the street! But it is invaluable. For understanding urban Australia, nothing s better than taking these two tours. Fascinating, interesting and engaging.

Hi Brad,
Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review about both of our tours! Having different artists share their perspective on street art and their own experiences as artists certainly makes for unique tours each and every time! It is great to hear about how our guides differed in their approach, but also what you got out of it from the artwork itself right through to the social influences and politics of street art. Thanks again for coming along and for the awesome recommendation!

Definitely worth the money. Amazing Tour with many different types of Street Art to see. When you like Street Art and you don't really know a lot already, this tour is definitely the right thing to do. I've already done other tours in different cities, but this one waa the best so far.

This is a must for any visitors to Melbourne as unless you know where the art is it is easy to miss.
Our guide Ben had an authentic knowledge as he was a street artist himself and had real talent and an in depth knowledge.
It was very interesting to find out about the hierarchy within the artist community and the “rules”.

Highly recommend this off the beaten path walking education about Melbourne Street Art, its variety, unwritten rules, beauty and challenges. Our guide, Ben, is a Street artist who provided insight and personal experiences which enlightened the entire experience. This was a fun way to have my eyes opened while learning about the scene.

This tour was excellent (I did the Fitzroy tour, but I’m sure the CBD one is great too). Street art is ubiquitous in Melbourne and while I had noticed it walking around town I had no real knowledge of it’s history or significance. Having an artist as the guide adds an extra level of insight (especially since I am not an artist myself). I learned a lot, saw some very interesting paintings/installations and developed a new appreciation for this form of expression. It’s a unique tour and I would highly recommend it to anybody.

Fitzroy and Collingwood have the most detailed and varied styles of mural street art, our guide Dan was able to also show us how much street art is out there in the form of installations not just the beautiful murals that adorn so much of these suburbs. Absolutely brilliant and I won't ever look at those streets the same way again.

This was an amazing tour. We had local artist Barek as our guide and he showed us some fantastic artwork, not just the spectacular murals but also some awesome stickers, pasteups and installations. Barek made the tour really fun and enjoyable and we got to see and hear about some of his own work. There is an amazing array of artwork in Collingwood and Fitzroy and this is a great way to experience it.

I’m not sure of the boundary between Fitzroy and
Collingwood, but the walk is well worthwhile. And a nice added bonus - plenty of great beverage stops along the way to refresh a weary traveller…

This tour was literally our favourite experience visiting Melbourne!
We were in Melbourne on a girl’s trip from NZ and thought that this might be something a little different and a way to see parts of the city that we might otherwise not see.
We went on the Fitzroy tour and found this tour to be an interesting and incredibly informative insight into the Melbourne street art culture.
Our tour guide was street artist Ben -@Barek_art – who is a very talented street artist himself and whose first-hand knowledge of the local street art, the history, the culture, the creative process and the artists was incredibly inspirational and insightful. Ben was an absolute pleasure to have as a tour guide and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him.
Ben showed us so many hidden treasures, even moving a rubbish bin for us to see a hidden piece of art. We all have a newfound appreciation for street art, thanks to Ben.
The tour even ended with a complimentary drink at a local outdoor bar, which also happened to be at a local art and craft market – the perfect end to a perfect day! We all genuinely enjoyed every aspect of this tour and would highly recommend this tour to everyone! A++
