      Dream Come True
I can't say this enough - this was a trip highlight on a dream vacation. To actually see a great white shark ... and many of his smaller Copper Shark friends ... up close and personal in the Great White Shark Capital of the world was incredible. Any lover of Shark Week should do this dive. I had already resigned myself to the fact that white sharks weren't as prevalent in the area because of Orcas killing them ... so when the first shark we saw as we dropped anchor was a 14-ft white shark, I couldn't believe it! She was a beauty! And then to get in the cage and come literally face to face or face to tail was outstanding. I didn't want to leave! A fantastic crew from start to finish! And they offer a video of the trip - buy it! You won't regret having the memories!

      Breathtaking Experience!
This was an amazing experience that everyone should have! This experience is 100% safe and you don't need to know how to swim to participate! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! The transportation to and from the facility was very convenient and safe. The van was comfortable. You get a lot of time in the cage and get the opportunity to see a lot of sharks! My group was fortunate enough to see a sting ray, seal and some dolphins as well!

      Cheeper than cheep
We came in a group of 13 people which was enough to pack the whole boat but the company added two other tourists so it was too crowded onboard. The smell of gasolin was so strong that it made many of our team members sick. The cage is quite small, suitable for three to four people max, but the company put six people every time so we kept pushing each other. After coming back to the base frozen and shaking (water was 14 degrees celcium) we waited in queue for shower for at least 20 minutes. The shower and toilet are in very poor condition, it has not been refurbished for 30 or 40 years. Finally, we were “treated” with lunch. There were two salads (enough for half of our team) and veg lasagne that I could not eat. It was probably very overcooked so it looked like a jelly consisting of 60% cheese, 35% dough and 5% vegetables. It looked disgusting and tasted like pure fat (no taste) The only positive side that we saw small grey sharks really close, there were many of them.

      Think carefully before you go
Just finished our trip and we are all a little disappointed. We did not see any white sharks which is the whole point of the trip hence the name of the company. I know they are wild creatures but the guides told us during they hadn’t seen a white shark in weeks which leads me to believe they only see them once in a blue moon. At £220 for 2 people it is way to pricey and for lunch there was a vegetable lasagne which was horrible. Just choose wisely before going

      The Jaws trip
This was the trip of a lifetime, I finally got to see a great white shark up close. The day started with a two and a half hour drive which was a little bit tiring. But we were given breakfast and a very informative briefing. The staff were very knowledgeable and instructive and the gentleman who gave the briefing was very friendly. Safety was very high on the priorities. We went to sea. After about 25 minutes we dropped anchor and the sharks soon showed up. We had lots of oportunities to take pictures from the deck, and then it was our turn in the cage. What a thrill, the adreniline was pumping. It was a bit tricky trying to take pictures with one hand while holding on with the other and holding my breath but I got a few good pictures. We spent about two hours at sea and then returned for some well earned lunch. A totally fantastic day, many thanks to all at shark ventures (sorry the only name I remember was Edger). Regards Dominic O'Brien.

      What an experience !!
Great experience with Dwight’s team. We really enjoyed it. The crew was reassuring, highly professional and took the time to teach us about the sharks habits. We can really see they are passionate about the subject and want only good to the sharks (which are really not considered how they should) We saw almost 20 bronze sharks and 1 white shark. (Nature gets its way) Only negative point: 2,5 hours drive from Cape Town but worth the time !!! Cherry on the cake: they have a sustainable policy and a ecotourism certification. Thanks a million for this great moment

      Amazing Fun
I was so scared I didn't know what to expect as this was my 1st time after along time at sea, as I am really just fearful of big waters. Anyhow, we got collected in Capetown, and when we got there was welcomed with nice breakfast. The take-off and briefing were very thorough which made me to feel at ease. We had an amazing time, we were just surrounded by the Sharks and a great site was having a Great White come to our boat and it was just exciting! I will never forget this experience, it is my highlight of this year! All the love to the staff of White Shark Ventures.

      Amazing experience!
Was an amazing experience! We had a full boat unfortunately a few people were seasick, however, we took this as an opportunity to jump back in the cage! Staff were super friendly and very informative! Didn’t get to see great whites but was still incredible to be in the water with 3.5meter bronze whalers! Definitely one of my highlights from my trip!

      Truly memorable and educational excursion
We were collected from our hotel in Cape Town and driven to Gansbaai for the cage dive. From start to finish it was well organised (using what's app prior to pick up), safe and extremely educational. All the staff were knowledgeable and dedicated to preservation and teaching about the sharks and the ocean environment. Breakfast and lunch was provided which was an extra bonus.

      Fantastic Experience
I highly recommend White Shark Ventures to anyone who is interested in seeing sharks in South Africa. The pickup was exactly on time in the morning and the bus was comfortable on the two hour trip. The owner does everything on the tour and provides a great safety demonstration and preview of the day. On the boat, we saw whales on the way out and back, tons of bronzie sharks, and one great white. In the cage you are literally face to face with these animals and you never feel unsafe at all. After the tour the lunch was pretty good and you get to watch a video of the day with everyone else on the tour.

      Breathtaking experience!!
First of all, the manager and the staff was really professional as well as respectful to the nature. We were convinced that they really love the ocean and invest in protecting it. We were given very comprehensive (almost documentary level) info about the environment and sharks. The safety orientation was also perfect that we had no second thoughts while diving into the cage. Our booking had be cancelled twice in two consecutive days because safety is first; but the communication was so perfect and timely that we managed to find alternative programs in the meantime and we could get on the boat on the third day even though we had to drive all the way back from Cape Town (totally worth it!!!). It should also be mentioned that the staff’s handling of the sea-sickness was really professional and comforting. We learned that there is no total prevention from or cure to the sea-sickness so you don’t need to feel weird even if you are effected by the motion. So, do not hesitate; just dive and enjoy!!!!!

After all morning in the water, we did not get to see a shark within 10 meters (and from the surface of the boat). The company offered us to do the activity another day, probably knowing that all the clients of that day were foreigners and most of us would not have time to do the activity again. In my case, I was leaving the next day to my country, they told me that they would call me to offer me a solution. I'm still waiting for that call ...

I tried to book on-line and the website would not access payment. I emailed their enquiries to make the booking and received no reply. I rang the number from the UK and got an incomprehensible person at the other end whom, although speaking English, I was unable to communicate with at all.

This is a great shame given that I had had a good trip with them in 2009 and they are the most accredited outfit regarding shark conservation status and operate the best boat.

I am left thinking they may not be operating any more, despite the website.

We booked "White Shark Ventures" as part of our trip to South Africa and overall we have to say we were largely disappointed with the company. This is not due to things beyond the company's control (weather, choppiness of the water, visibility whilst in the water, or the viewing of the sharks) it was purely due to their lack of organisation and what I can only describe as "chaos" on board.

We were exceedingly fortunate to see some sharks on our dive (killer whales had apparently eaten several great whites in the weeks leading up to this so sharks had only recently returned to the area). This aspect of our dive; the whole reason we booked it, was fantastic. It was everything else that can only be described as pretty horrendous.

Firstly we were picked up at 6.30 in the morning, which I understood as it is a two and a half hour drive from Cape Town. What I didn't then understand is why they make you sit in what can only be attributed to the "losers cafe" in the Apprentice for well over an hour. This is for them to get you fill out your name, email, next of kin etc - why this couldn't have been done on the drive down I don't know as when 30 people are scrambling over one piece of paper it begins to take its toll. Then we spent a good 20 minutes with people sorting out their payments, half payments, calling their booking agent because they thought they'd paid and they hadn't, paying for towels or bags. It was just a disorganised a mess which all could have been avoided.

The boat itself is a whole other disaster zone. We were packed onto the boat which was ok for the boat ride in but when the tour guide says that anyone who wants to dive needs to come and get a wet suit now, it was like a stampede! People were grabbing and wetsuits and getting changed in any small amount of space (and trust me there is barely any!), people were getting changed in the cabin and therefore blocking anyone else from getting a wetsuit. Trying to get changed when the boat is rocking and you have zero space is not a good experience. Again why this couldn't have been done back on land before setting sail, I don't know (the boat ride in is only 15 minutes so you wouldn't get cold). Further to this there is no real sensible space to store your belongings (they give you "dry bags") but these are pretty much just tossed into a cupboard inside the cabin all on top of one another and you basically can't get to it again until you dock.

The rush to get in the cage is like people the are wild animals themselves. If you are of a slightly mild mannered disposition, this isn't for you. People were pushing and shoving to get in the cage first, with no thought or consideration for anyone else - again there was no organisation or system on "White Shark Ventures" behalf. It was an absolute free for all.

"White Shark Ventures" claim before you dive that you can have "two or three goes" in the cage and can spend "15 minutes to an hour" in there. Whilst we thought an hour was over ambitious before we set sail, we didn't realise the 15 minutes was too! We were able to go in the cage just once for around 10 minutes. Not exactly what I would call good value for money! We were also told we would be at sea for three hours; we were out for a maximum of two. We also did not go to shark alley like the website advertises.

When you get out of the cage, people are trying to get in before you've even got out. When you manage to get out, there are obviously people just all over the boat. You are stepping on people's belongings, clothes, extra wetsuits and boots. There were just far too many people on board. If you are slightly prudish/have any self pride then you will need to fight to get in the toilet to get changed. The experience of changing, as being one of only 5 females on the boat out of 25 people, was definitely not a pleasant one or one I would care to repeat.

The actual experience in cage and seeing the sharks was amazing. And had we not seen anything we would have been disappointed but not blamed this on the company.

The journey back to Cape Town wasn't really much better. This is obviously a long drive back which we clearly already knew, what made it even longer however was having to stop for petrol in the village (why couldn't this be done by one of the site staff whilst we were on the boat?) and our driver running a personal errand at his house on the way back! It was unbelievable! We believe that our experience on the boat was rushed/cut short due to these things.

Overall I am really pleased we booked shark diving however I strongly recommend you research which company to dive with. I would look for companies that are organised and don't pack people on to the boat. "White Shark Ventures" certainly doesn't fit this category and I would advise you go elsewhere.

We had a wonderful time with this company - from our arrival to departure everything was run like a well-oiled machine. No time was wasted yet we never felt hurried. Lucas worked hard baiting the sharks and was Nick (who assisted us in and out of the cage) and the videographer/organizer whose name slips my mind. It was a memorable experience which could not have been improved except by better visibility which is hardly the crew's fault!

Thank you White Shark Ventures, my 14-year-old son and I had an amazing morning seeing the sharks. The crew and the captain were very helpful, thorough and above all very knowledgable. Not only did we get to see Great Whites up close, but we learned a lot about sharks!!!

Thank you for a Great Day!

The only recommendation I would make is to people who do get a little queasy at sea, take something to prevent seasickness prior to the tour. There can be some motion while you are out on the boat, especially if you are on the upper deck. (Which is the best place to see the sharks)

We had an amazing time with the crew of White Shark Ventures and we saw about 10 sharks at one time at the boat. I would definitely recommend you go with this company as they also put a lot of effort and money into research of the great white. They are very well educated and know a lot about the sharks. Great experience!

An excellent, ethical Shark Dive operator. Really freindly helpful crew, some of the cost is re-invesetd into helping the sharks survive.
We had a good briefing beforehand, short trip out to the site, excellent cage dive facilties, saw lots of Bronzies and a couple of Great Whites, a really enjoyable couple of hours.

Amazing day, up to 12 bronzes at 1 time, did see 3 great whites, biggest around 3 metre, other two were a bit smaller, at least 2 dives in the cage. The sharks were coming right up to side of the cage, all staff on and off the boat were very helpful and polite, overall really good day out
