Amazing opportunity to learn about local culture! And make your own salsa! :)
Mar 2021
What an incredible experience! We learned so much about the local culture, different art techniques, and local food. We even got to make our own salsa! The best part was the real "human connections" that were made during the trip. The opportunity to chat with folks about their lives, our lives, share stories about our kids, learn from our hosts, and laugh together was such a highlight! This is my third tour, and they just keep getting better! I am already looking forward to my next one! Thank you, Human Connections! By far and away is the best way to spend a day!

Fun and informative
We were staying for a week in Punta de Mita and wanted something more immersive than a pure beach vacation. Fortunately we found this tour. Claudia was our guide. Very kind, safe easy, little walking. She shuttled us between family homes in Bucerias that hosted us to show us their trade and share experiences. It was well organized and we left feeling apart of the community instead of outsiders. Sadly few people coming to Punta de Mita discover this wonderful experience. So glad I found them.

Hello! Thank you so much for your feedback! I am glad you found what you expected out of your Punta Mita vacations which must have been very nice too. We will make sure more people in Punta Mita know about this experience so we can easily offer this type of authentic experiences with more people that can take advantage of them like you! It was great hosting you! Thank you for participating with us in these trying times for our artisans!

Don't miss out this unique responsible tourism experience in Bucerias!
Mar 2021
Highly recommended!!

We met Claudia, our tour guide at Human Connection's office. She presented the organisation, responsible tourism, some interesting information about Mexico and the three families of local artisans that we were going to meet.
Leonarda was our first host and she told us her fascinating story. Maria explained the Lopez Lopez family business between Chiapa and Buscerias. Illena and her daughter Sophia prepared a very tasty Mexican meal in their home and share their story. Amazing day spend exchanging with these people. Great responsible tourism experience!

Hi Thierry, It was such a pleasure to host you very recently at one of our three recent private Bucerías Cultural Tours of this new season 2021! After a year with no tours at all! Human Connections' partners - the artisans - and our HC team was so excited to finally host responsible travelers like you this year with our new Covid safe protocols ! We had such an amazing time and having the chance to interact with you in a more private experience was delightful. Thank you for coming!!

Wonderful opportunity to meet local folks
Mar 2020
I really enjoyed meeting Nallely, Leonarda, and Rolando, and hearing about their work and lives in Bucerias. Claudia was a wonderful host, easily translating conversations and questions. Our lunch was delicious! I look forward to future opportunities to meet Bucerias artisans!

Hi there, thank you very much for your message! Even though we are not hosting tours anymore because of these difficult times, we are already excited for the tours we may host in the future once it is safe to travel again! Our partners will be soo happy to see new faces (or familiar faces too) visiting them hopefully soon this year! Fingers crossed this may happen sooner than later!

Right from the time we walked through the Human Connections Tour doors we were treated with exceptional service and attention. The overview before our tour started was thorough but not overwhelming. Travelling around the Bucerias area in the air conditioned van was really convenient and a way to relax and discuss what we had just experienced. Claudia and Hector, our driver were amazing. They were so good at answering our questions about the people and families we visited along with other general questions about Mexican life for the average citizen.
The trip was safe and there was little walking required so people of all ages can enjoy this event. We look forward to visiting them again but taking the longer tour up into the countryside. If you are looking for something different to do, without breaking the bank this tour is for you and your family.

Thoroughly enjoyed our cultural tour with Human Connections. Claudia was an amazing guide, and being able to meet and actually connect with the host artisans was an irreplaceable experience. Furthermore, they were all so welcoming and hospitable! The restaurant also accommodated a vegan meal for me, so that was greatly appreciated. It was the perfect opportunity to continue learning how to become a more responsible tourist. Would definitely recommend to anyone who visits the area - it was very enjoyable and informative. Would love to see this organization pop up around the globe!

It was certainly a highlight of our visit, and plan to take in more of the Human Connections Tours. Such an exceptional exPerience. We found the staff engaging and very respectful and appreciative of all the creativity, workmanship, and willingness of the participants to share their history and passion. We’ve come to appreciate the Mexican people as being so hospitable, humble and joyful.

We had the most amazing day in Bucerias on a Human Connections Cultural Tour with our great tour guide, Claudia and driver Hector. We visited the home of a jewellery maker, a wood carver and then lunch served up by a chef/caterer and his wife. We learned a bit about their life's journey and how they are doing now. But they were also very interested in learning about our small tour group. The photo is of Cristino, our wood carver who makes beautiful things from ironwood. Teresa, the jewellery maker works with glass beads - such fine, painstaking work! Omar and Nellely are both fabulous cooks and showed us their way of making guacamole and salsa. A wonderful experience and highly recommended!
