    What to Expect
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Rainforest Chocolate Tour, Road to Waterfall of La Fortuna, In Front of Cabinas La Catarata, Arenal Volcano National Park, La Fortuna de San Carlos 856-3000 Costa Rica

Considered as "a gift of the Gods", the cacao tree was very important to the ancient culture. It was not only used as a ceremonial drink, but its seeds were also used as currency because of its economic value, in many regions of Mesoamerica, including Costa Rica.

In this 2-hour “hands on” program, you'll have the opportunity to learn interesting aspects of cocoa and chocolate, from its origin and history, participating in all the production process, from the harvesting of the fruit, drying and grinding of the seed, also the developing of the traditional drink of our ancestors, and of course enjoying a high quality organic chocolate.

We went on the 8am tour with our 3 year old and 8 month old. Going that early in the off season meant we were on our own private tour with a wonderful guide Katherine. Our 3 year old has a tendency to wander when...More

Was just okay, nothing exciting. The tour guide was nice though. It was interesting to learn about the process of chocolate making at the plantation. And luckily, it didn't rain

I visited with a group of my students. We all loved the tour. My girls got to cut down a cacao pod, and learned all about the process of making chocolate. I’m not a dark chocolate gal, but the tasting portion of the tour was...More

We recently visited La Fortuna and our hotel was less than a 1/4 mile away from Rainforest Chocolate. My 10-year old daughter loves chocolate so it seemed that we were destined for this experience. It was far more educational and professionally done than I had...More

Yes , this is good to do in the afternoon, although there is an outdoor component so if it's raining you will get wet. A significant portion of the tour is under a covered area outside which provides a nice respite from the... More

I am so sorry, I am seeing this now. Yes I believe they charge for kids above 6. This is not my business. I was a visitor.

The tour bus picks you up from the hotel. It takes place in a small chocolate plantation. I'm not sure what the area is called.
