About
Your visit will begin with a brief tour of our farm and introductions to some of our smaller friends (i.e pygora goats, sheep and overly friendly barn cats ) with a short story of our 1850 homestead located in The Historic Hudson Valley on 25 bucolic acres . Followed by Llama/Alpaca 101 and why these soft and fluffy critters are the new Unicorn of animals. We will cover basic safety rules and answer any questions before we begin our trek. We will guide your Llama/Alpaca trek through gentle pastures, paddocks, past a stocked Bass pond and encourage Llama/Alpaca Selfies along the way. You will experience a walking and working Fiber Farm tour amongst our 25 bucolic pastured acres. Our hope is that this tour will allow you to reconnect with a quieter side of life, one that allows for relaxation, warm and welcoming animal encounters and a country stroll through our pastures allowing a reconnection to nature.

Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 632joyces0 contributionsSo much fun for the family! We took my brother and sister in law as a birthday weekend. The owner was very informative. We had a great time walking the adorable alpacas and visiting the farm. The gift shop has so many cute things and the alpaca soap is amazing! I wish I had bought more of that! There’s plenty to do for the weekend as Rosevelt’s estate is right in the area, as well as the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park.Written 22 December 2024
- Maria G0 contributionsGreat afternoonThis was a great experience. We Highly recommend that you schedule a hike with the alpacas and llamas. We had 20 people and they accommodated us and worked with our big group to make it enjoyable for everyone. Every single person in the group said it was the best afternoon. They also have a cute little store that you can check out at the end of the hike. Clean nice bathrooms. Just a great few hours. Thank you so much for ending my daughter’s wedding weekend in the Catskills on such a high note. We hope we can see you again. Do this! You won’t regret itWritten 8 December 2024
- Odyssey047037577790 contributionsKicking off the holiday season! We had the most wonderful “donkey walk” At Clover Brooke yesterday to start off the holiday season. I think it is our new tradition- already planning to repeat next year! The gentle and well-kept animals, the rolling pasture and fresh air - cheering and relaxing for the whole family. We enjoyed the balance of soaking up the peaceful setting and some really interesting stories from the farmer about the animals’ characteristics and their sustainable farming practices. The lovely farm shop has specialty items for a little holiday shopping. Families might be especially glad to know that there are excellent indoor bathroom facilities on site. Much appreciated after a substantial drive.Written 2 December 2024
- trav2260 contributionsGreat hikeThought it’s a bit of a pain to get here without a car it was well worth it. The hike is the perfect length and includes a couple of uphill and downhill paths so you feel like you’ve actually gotten some good exercise after. The animals are adorable. I was disappointed to get one that was a bit aloof and didn’t want to be touched but you don’t get to choose. However, my friend’s llama gave me a kiss at one point on the hike which was a highlight. My two suggestions would be to have some snacks available for purchase. And to have some sort of heat on in the main waiting area with the bathrooms. The place is great - comfy furniture, nice view and 2 bathrooms but omg it’s cold. No space heater even? You shouldn’t have to keep your coat on indoors. .Written 24 November 2024
- 080MrSun0800 contributionsHiking like next levelAmazing experience in this farm. I love the interaction with different kinds of animals. The farm owners are professional & knowledgeable with experience living in the farm and support the rescued animals. Will be better if a farm can have some snacks (at least a vending machine) available to fill in the stomach during the adventure.Written 14 October 2024
- kristinehope0 contributionsThe cutest animalsHad a really fun day at the farm! Loved getting to meet the animals, especially the loveable llamas. Was in Hyde Park for all of the historic/national park tours and it was nice to also spend some time at Clover Brooke nearby while in the area.Written 2 October 2024
- HonestMom10 contributionsMeh.The owners are incredibly nice and the property is gorgeous but only a lama, a few goats and the donkey let you pet them The alpacas retreated to the far end of the field. Also, the guide was not especially knowledgeable. Farm store didn't have much. Won't be back.Written 22 September 2024
- JackieV4540 contributionsBest day!!We had the most amazing day at Clover Brooke Farms!! We learned about the farm, but the highlight was walking with our very own llama!!! We plan on going again next year and bring new friends with us!!Written 8 September 2024
- Clovelly80 contributionsClover Brooke Farm - a great way to spend a morning or afternoon…Ruth and I visited Clover Brooke Farm one afternoon in August 2024 and had a wonderful time. Andrea and Mike gave us a warm welcome alongside the two other families who were visiting, and Andrea started the tour with a walk around the Clover Brooke farmyard, explaining all about the history of the farm, introducing us to all the animals, and confirming everything we needed to know about llamas and alpacas. This was followed by a hike around the surrounding beautiful countryside. Ruth lead Remy the Alpaca, and I was lead by Percy the Llama. At the beginning of the hike Percy was giving me the stare to see if I had all it took to be his friend. And by the end of the hike I am glad to say that we were the best of buddies. The hike was great fun and would be ideal for adults of all ages, but especially for both older and younger children. Clover Brooke Farm - well worth a visit.Written 9 August 2024
- TheVoges0 contributionsHow often do you get to walk a donkeyI had a truly lovely experience at Clover Brook, so much so that I went on one tour and then booked another for a few hours later. Both were very much worth it. Sophia, my guide on both occasions, knew so much about the animals and farm life. She answered all my questions and had some fun anecdotes. It was a really unique and charming experience. I hope to return again!Written 23 July 2024
- mblcmh0 contributionsTwist is the Best!Very enjoyable llama hike. Big shout out to Twist the alpaca! Great personality! Staff was kind and helpful, and the shop was just the cutest! Highly recommend!!Written 21 July 2024
- kingstonandulstery0 contributionsOVER THE TOPThis was an over the top exceptional experience. The animals were adorable and the goat walk was so much fun. Kate our Guide was super knowledgeable and a great guide! We did the goat walk and I plan to go back to do the donkey and alpaca walk.Written 20 May 2024
- Verovee0 contributionsMeet the llamas. Dress warmly. We did a farm tour only. We were with our five year old who was being a bit fussy because she was cold. But even in her mood she admitted the alpacas were beautiful. The farm itself is lovely and the animals are friendly. The donkeys are especially adorable. All the animals were very tolerant of people petting and scratching them. The only disappointments were that the tour felt a little short (and we stayed pretty much in the same spot the whole time) and we didn’t visit the sheep or get to see the bunnies. The tour guide was patient with my many questions and was knowledgeable. The gift shop has some nice woolen goods made from the wool of the farm animals and some stuffed toys. It was Mid range (fairly reasonable) expensive. If tempted by a hat you may want to try it on. I didn’t want to try it on but now I have very nice, warm, but too small hat. If you’re going in late fall as we did note that it gets cold in the field. Dress in layers!Written 25 November 2023
- 103dmitrig0 contributionsWonderful experience!Wonderful experience! We spent an hour outdoors walking the grounds of the farm in the company of two adorable donkeys, Lee and Joy. In the process, thanks to our lovely guide Mayerly, we learned a lot about the farm in general and about its animals. The owners are doing an exception job, and Mayerly's enthusiasm was truly contagious. Highly recommend to people of all ages!Written 20 November 2023
- Lynn R0 contributionsFun fall day.We had a wonderful time walking the two donkeys — they were really friendly and even let a young kid lead them! The animals at the farm were really well-cared for and look happy, and Mike was a great tour guide.Written 29 October 2023

My fiancé and I had such an amazing time at Clover Brooke Farm! We did the llama/alpaca hike. Andrea started off the tour by giving us a brief history of the farm and explaining the differences between the animals. We got to pet them as we listened. I didn't expect to learn so much! After that portion of the tour, we did a hike with a llama. We really enjoyed it and couldn't stop smiling and laughing the whole time! This was such a unique experience and I highly recommend booking this tour for a fun weekend activity!

Our group of four had the honor of walking and hiking with one alpaca and one llama. The animals are friendly and cooperative. Andrea is so kind and knowledgeable, sharing about the farm and her passion for making it a truly educational experience.

From beginning to end my trip was awesome! I was greeted by a gray cat Cricket who let me rub her belly. She was a great start! The owner Andrea had everything you needed before your hike; wipes, hand sanitizer, bug spray. Andrea showed us around her farm and we got to meet the goats, a sheep, some llamas and alpacas. Her animals love her and it shows! They fly to her and are almost like a dog asking for attention and head rubs. It was too cute! The llama/alpaca hike was GREAT! I got Percy who was the leader of our group during the hike. He was really great to hike with. When we took photos I felt that the llamas were professionals at posing. The area she has you pose is PERFECT for a really good shot! I had such a good time, learned a lot and honestly wish I lived closer so I could try every activity!

llama/alpaca walk
pros:animals were very friendly and sweet! some were soft. beautiful scenery and something fun to do. educational
cons:
andrya was quite rude. didn’t greet us even when we came inside to check in. kept trying to force adults to pay attention to her when they were clearly disinterested. very demeaning tone to certain ppl when asking questions. one moment everyone noticed an alpaca doing something funny and wanted to stop and watch and had questions and she fully ignored us and spoke over ppl to tell us to follow her to the front where the other llamas were.
the forced history lesson of the farm was uncomfortable given the concept of owning land and farming in this country in the 1800s but i digress. i would have preferred that time being used to tell the group more about how to handle the animals to avoid her rude outbursts towards people making mistakes.
definitely could be cheaper considering how long the hike actually is but would consider taking my friends on her day off

Thank You for your review. We enjoy sharing our Llamas and Alpacas with our visitors and feel giving past history of the farms 175 yrs history of dairy farming to understanding the changes that one sees currently at our fiber farm. Farming practices have tremendously advanced, allowing farmers to be more successful on smaller plots of land, while stewarding preservation for future farmers. We look forward to welcoming you back with your friends in the future.

Bussiness opened up later than listed online. We were met by a very rude woman who was upset we didnt schedule an appointment beforehand. Although, the website does not state its by appoinment only We also had a few questions concerning the activities. Her response was dismissive and made us feel unwelcomed. She automatically assumed we knew the protocol. The website does not state what particular activities are available on what days. That woman needs to work on her customer service ettiquette. This experience took away our ambition to even purchase tickets with them. I am not going to support unproffessional customer service. The drive there isnt around the corner from visitors . They should consider updating their website rather than assume their customers know the booking protocol. We ended up going to Lilymoore alpaca farm 24 minutes away with NO APPOINMENT. We booked a tour with no problem what so ever.

My apologies ... and will take a look at my material to better highlight that all visits to the farm are by appointment only. As a small farm with limited staff, I wish we could accommodate both walk ins and extra tours times, however time outside of preset tour times, are reserved to manage our rescue farm as we are focused on our animals health and well being, along with making sure our hike times are scheduled in advance so we an plan accordingly. Because everyone books in advance, we had no availability for walks ins, as all spots were all booked online weeks in advance by visitors.
We hope you'll consider visiting again and please note, as seen on our website- Book Now highlighted buttons at the bottom of each Experience page, is where you can both see availability for future tours and making reservations. You can also book directly from Google (where you found our phone number) noted under 'Hours' is the 'Appointments' link.

Hi, I booked an alpaca hike and was so excited to go. Unfortunately after driving 3 hours to reach this farm, I went to the location listed on Google Maps that is in Pawling NY which is 45 mins away from this location!!! When I called them stating this, the lady giving the hike was extremely rude and told me it is not HER problem that HER business location on google maps is wrong. I mean I planned out the entire Christmas break AROUND THIS hike and just for her to tell me sorry don't brother coming? She even told me I read the google maps wrong because the other clover brook farm is under a different name, see attached screen shot. It even has PICTURES of alpacas on it. I am sure I am not the first customer to get the location wrong.
Complete waste of a trip and the entire day of driving. Do not assume their address on Google maps is the same as the address on their website, it is not!
At the very least I would need a full refund, not to mention I brought all the proper footwear just for this hike.

Judy,
Apologies you drove to the wrong farm that is not associated or affiliated with Clover Brooke Farm, Hyde Park, NY. I understand that this error was very frustrating and disappointing for your family. In your review, you ‘again’ misspell the name of our farm which is possibly why you were confused and drove to another town.
It’s unfortunate you did not read all the materials and emails sent to you from Clover Brooke Farm, Hyde Park NY, upon registering for the hike and not refer to the reminder email sent to you 24 hours before your hike, providing you with the address of Clover Brooke Farm, Hyde Park. Making every attempt in all our materials to remind visitors we are located on Hyde Park, NY. We also send a separate email to all registrants providing our address for assistance of 175 Ruskey Ln Hyde Park at which point you would’ve noticed you were driving to the wrong farm (as pictured on your Google screen shot above showing Pawling NY).
For those of you reading this review….it is always wise to check your directions in your GPS and compare against the organizations website material so you don’t end up like Judy and drive to an unknown farm in New York.
One last note— when you enter into Google the ‘correct’ farm name -Clover Brooke Farm…it directs you to the ‘correct’ address 175 Ruskey Ln, Hyde Park, NY…so Google is correct….in Judy’s case, users error.

With so few options for entertainment during the pandemic, I highly recommend giving this place a visit. We booked a llama walk for two and had the pleasure of being the only ones there (it was mid-week on a very chilly day). It was awesome! Andrea was a very pleasant hostess and I learned a lot during our walk. I was also completely unprepared for how much I would adore and geek out over the animals! This is a great way to spend some time outside and safely socially distance. The farm store is really cool too.

This place is wonderful! We enjoyed standing amidst frolicking baby pygmy goats. (The barn cat was bigger than the baby goats!). Then we met the female llamas and alpacas and learned more about sustainable farming as well as opportunities the farm is providing for local young people in the technical colleges and high school. Finally, we got to take our llamas and alpacas for walks. I am a city person who is slightly scared of animals and often find farms smelly and too buggy for comfort. To my delight, Cloverbrooke Farm is a wonderful place to practice approaching animals and enjoy nature. The farm is well maintained and beautiful. Different areas are thoughtfully laid out. The air was fresh and there were no biting bugs. The weather was perfect on June 19. There is a picturesque spot on the llama walk for great photos with your llama or alpaca hiking buddy.

Myself and 7 of my friends had the most amazing experience this past weekend during our farm tour and llama/alpaca hike. We had the pleasure of having the very lovely Dawson as our guide - the passion, knowledge, and love he had for the farm and for the animals were so evident and very inspiring. I cannot stress enough how much we enjoyed his tour and appreciated all of the information (and laughs) he provided. Sunday the sheep, Remy the alpaca and Percy the llama were the true stars of the day! The property was beautiful and the hike was the perfect length. I will absolutely be coming back soon and recommend this place to anyone who has an appreciation for animals and nature. Thank you Clover Brooke Farm and thank you Dawson for a very memorable day!

We hope you’ll group will have an opportunity visit again.

Our family did a Zoom tour of Clover Brooke, which we enthusiastically recommend to everyone! It was a breeze to book, and everyone on our family Zoom (representing two countries and 5 states and family members ages 4 to 74) was enthralled with the llamas, alpacas, goats and sheep.
The tour is fascinating, fun and professionally done. Andrea is awesome. (You can tell she was an educator before taking up farming). The connection was smooth the whole time as she roamed around the farm, giving us great views and stories of all the animals.
Of course, we look forward to the day we can go in person. But until then, this was a wonderful family activity that made a big impression. Thank you!
