    What to Expect
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, better known simply as The Met, is the largest art museum in the United States and among the most-visited art museums in the world. The Met was founded in 1870 by a group of American citizens — businessmen and financiers as well as leading artists and thinkers of the day — who wanted to create a museum to bring art and art education to the American people. The museum presents dozens of exhibits each year as well as thousands of events and programs including films, talks, performances, guided tours and family activities.

This Metropolitan Museum of Art ticket introduces an abundance of art in 17 curatorial departments. There are splendors of ancient Egypt, plus armor and weapons of sculptural and ornamental beauty from Europe, the Middle East, Asia and America. Look for European paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints and more than 20,000 photographs acquired by the museum over the past 80 years.

And if that weren’t enough, this ticket also includes admission to The Met Cloisters and The Met Breuer.

    3 Consecutive Day Pass
    • Priority entrance to all three museums
    • 3-Day General Admission to The Met Fifth Avenue, The Met Breuer (Tuesday-Sunday) and The Met Cloisters
    • Entry to all exhibitions

Way too much to see, could spend days or weeks and not be able to properly take it all in however we were very disappointed that there were very, very few places to sit for a short rest now and then.

We only had 3 hours before having to catch a flight out of NYC. Went on a Thursday morning, no lines, not crowded and easy to move quickly through the exhibits we wanted to see. Obviously would have loved much more time but if you go on a weekday and have a plan of what you want

Really enjoyed the Brueur museum. It is small and easy to see. The Met on 80th is amazing, but huge...good idea to pick one or two areas to see. The Cloisters are beautiful, but difficult to get to from midtown. We took M4 bus which took 2 hours. Took A train back, much quicker.
