Good value overall
This pass was worth it - saved us probably 15% on activities and didn’t feel we had to watch every penny when booking activities. Biggest caution: read carefully what’s included and book ahead for activities requiring an advance reservation. Availability was scarce weeks in advance for one thing we wanted; another only allowed same-day bookings which meant we got on a wait list & weren’t able to do that activity. And some things are a fairly long drive from SD.

Plan ahead, including making reservations before you go
Jul 2021
We have used these passes before with great experiences. I didn't plan ahead as much as I should have and ended up missing out on many of the attractions we had wanted to do. For some reason, many of the vendors are now only offering "Friday-Sunday" availability which really limits what you can do. We arrived on a Saturday, so by the time we got checked in to our hotel, we really only had one day to use these (bike rentals, SUP rentals, whale watching, etc). So, we ended up with other vendors who had wider varieties of availability and wasted our money on these passes. For a family of 4...that is a LOT of money wasted :( Also, several of the vendors didn't know how this pass even worked so we wasted a lot of time getting things set up (for example the Coronado ferry...that was painful to get someone who knew how it worked!) Another vendor gave us multiple answers about availability/reservations/times and we ended up missing out on the bike rentals because of the miscommunications. Anyway...take your time and really read the fine print, the availability, schedule yourself in advance and maybe the Explorer Pass will be a better option.

Must do but plan ahead
Dec 2019
I got the 7 days Go San Diego Card all-inclusive, and it was the best decision I made in San Diego, it includes the most amazing places you can visit, such as and not limited to SeaWorld, The Zoo, Legoland, The USS Midway, Whale seeing, kayak rental, all of the Balboa Park museums and more.
You must prepare yourself for a busy 7 days, you will not have time to rest, and you will not have time to plan, so plan ahead before you activate your pass, start with the most important attractions because most probably you will not be able to do them all.
I recommend the following order: SeaWorld, The Zoo, Whale watching (if in season), Legoland, the USS Midway, kayak rental, then you can do the Balboa Park museums, the Safari park, and all of the other attractions and activities that you can do.

this is worth it if you can do Lego land and Sea World in 1 day, you will save money. the 1 day pass is cheaper than legoland ticket alone.

Really poor customer service
We purchased a 3-day San Diego pass for our visit to SD in August 2019. On the third day we were caught up in an incident at Balboa Park, a gas leak, that meant we were refused entry to those attractions. People who purchased physical tickets from each attraction were allowed to use their tickets at a later date but good ol’ Go City San Diego Pass users were not allowed any extension to their time. Although this incident was out of their control, it would have been a nice gesture to allow a small extension equivalent to those purchasing physical tickets.

As things stand, we have not been able to get value for money from our Go City passes. I recommend prospective purchasers buy advance online tickets from each attraction (or through retailers such as Groupon) rather than a bundle deal with insufficient protection when things go wrong. Also, several of the attractions listed with entrance fees on their website are actually free to enter - do your homework before buying.

Customer service ignored our pleas mid-conversation and now we are out of pocket on very expensive 3 day tickets. Please avoid and go direct.

one of the vendors gave us a hard time
Aug 2019
We bought a "build your own" San Diego Go Card for four attractions. Three worked smoothly and one gave us a hard time and told us the card was expired when it was actually good for 30 days as written on the SD Go Card print out. I later confirmed with the San Diego Go Card customer service that it should have worked when we made the reservation for the two hour cruise, but the cruise ticket office made a mistake and somehow voided the card when we stopped at their office to make a reservation 3 days prior to the cruise. This occurred at 4PM on the last day of our vacation and the ticket booth told me that I should contact the SD Go Card instead of solving the problem themselves. This made for an embarrassing and stressful time at the cruise ticket booth on the SD bay. After much back and forth, the vendor decided to let us go on the cruise, but it was a hassle and caused a lot of anxiety. Since it was an unpleasant experience, I'm not going to use this SD Go Card again. Saving a bit of money is not worth the "work" that it took to use the card.

Thank you for taking the time to contact Go City. We appreciate all of the feedback, and will be passing it along to Management. It does sound like the attraction scanned the pass prior to you visiting, causing a problem on the day you were actually going. We are terribly sorry that you experienced this issue when trying to visit the attraction, and will be contacting them directly.

Wonderful Experience!!
If in San Diego, would definitely recommend visiting the San Diego Zoo! It’s a really large zoo, with a large number of animals from all across the world, so one would do well to keep a whole day aside for it.
Although the map is a little confusing, but you can just ask around and find your way through the park. Wear good walking shoes as you would need to walk quite a bit, of course you can always take the kangaroo bus. Also, it is advisable to keep your hat, sunscreen and a bottle of water as it gets pretty hot during the day. All in all, a Wonderful Experience!!

They should make you aware of what is premium and not premium!!! HORRIBLE!!!
Jun 2019 • Family
They need to also tell people that besides Seaworld and hop on off trolley that the speedboats are also premium and who knows what else. We went and did the speedboats one day. The next day we went to sea world we had to pay $22 for parking get there and they say because you used this pass at the speedboats you can’t come here with it they are both premiums. It doesn’t say that on website and actually just reading the description here on trip advisor it doesn’t say it. The woman at sea world told us we were the 4th people that week that had the same problem. It was ridiculous!!!! DISCLOSE WHAT ARE PREMIUMS. WHAT A WASTE OF PARKING AND MONEY ON THE GO PASS!!! I emailed the go pass and have never heard back from them. It’s been about 3 weeks!!!!

Thank you for taking the time to review the Go Card. We appreciate all of the feedback and will pass it along to Management. For San Diego, the Speedboat Adventures is no longer a premium attraction as of April this year. This attraction can be visited in addition to one of the Premium attractions offered on pass durations of 3 days or more. We are terribly sorry for any inconvenience and confusion.
