Overview
An independent trip to the beautiful Muir Woods National Monument requires advance reservations, and finding parking in Sausalito can be difficult. Easily visit both must-see locations with this guided tour from San Francisco, which includes skip-the-line access at Muir Woods and a hassle-free stop at the charming waterfront town. At each destination, enjoy free time away from your group, so you can explore at your own pace.
What to Expect
Start your Muir Woods National Monument and Sausalito tour with pickup from San Francisco. Drive over the Golden Gate Bridge and catch sight of Alcatraz on the way to Muir Woods.

Upon arrival, bypass the entrance lines and head inside to wander the forest grounds at your own speed. See California’s old-growth redwood trees, and take in the fresh air.

Next, get back in your vehicle for the ride to the Sausalito waterfront. Again, you can explore at your own pace as you walk the waterfront. Pop into art galleries or snag a snack or a drink (at your own expense).

Afterward, your tour ends with a ride back to San Francisco. If you’ve upgraded to take the ferry, you’ll ride enjoy a boat ride back to the city.

Muir woods/Sausalito

Our guide, Josh, was informative, entertaining and fun. He played a few songs that fit with the trip and told fun stories. Muir Woods is magnificent! We thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Yes, the tour is a 40 ft bus with all transportation provided. I recommend the ferry option from Sausalito to allow more than an hour there
