Overview
Exploring Hilton Head on a “creek cat” boat gives you a few advantages: access to smaller marshes and wildlife-rich areas, and the chance to explore at your own pace. Zip around the island at speeds up to 30 mph (48 kph) while covering about 25 miles (40 kilometers). See the top highlights and get a chance to visit back creeks where dolphins and other sea life resides.
What to Expect
Your “creek cat” tour departs dockside from Palmetto Bay Marina. Board your own boat and begin a unique 2-hour ride through the waters around Hilton Head Island. During your guided tour, visit back creeks and various waterways covering about 25 miles (40 kilometers) around the island.

Cruise through marshes and past mansions while your guide tells you about local wildlife and folklore. Spot dolphins, eagles, ospreys, egrets, and otters along the water.

Travel at your own pace and with some independence while staying under the supervision of the guide. Every now and then you’ll have the chance to open the throttle and speed the pace up—the little boats can travel up to 30 mph (48 kph).

The tour finishes back at the docks after approximately two hours.

A different way to see Hilton Head!

Our captain, Bruce was very good, considering my lack of experience driving one of these things. There were some challenges - like running into some unfriendly wakes - but all turned out very good.

A must do while on HHI

We had a group of 7 in 4 creek cats. Including 4 teenagers. We arrived back to shore after a hour and a half sunset tour soaking wet with perma-grins on our faces. Wet because of some high winds that made it a little choppy...More

Great time!

My husband and I went out with Captain Bruce today. He does an amazing job of sharing his knowledge of the area and he's incredibly patient with those who didn't handle the boat so well. The Creek Cat was a lot of fun! We were...More

I’m not sure there’s a question there, but if you’re asking if we ever felt that Captain Kim put us in a position we couldn’t handle-the answer is an ABSOLUTE no! He checked on us quite a few times and I know he would’ve... More
