    What to Expect
Select from a sunrise or sunset hot-air balloon flight over Lancaster County. The meeting point is across the street from the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn on Old Philadelphia Pike. The early morning flight begins at 6 a.m. while the evening flight launches at 6 p.m.

Watch as the crew prepares and inflates the balloon. Feel free to ask questions and/or lend a helping hand. The pilot will explain the safety rules, then it’s into the gondola for lift off.

During the flight, enjoy the breathtaking scenery over Lancaster County farmlands, including the towns of Reading, New Holland, Intercourse, Bird-in-Hand, Ephrata, and Strasburg. On a clear day, it’s possible to see the headwaters of Chesapeake Bay.

When it’s time to land, the pilot will offer a reminder of the safety rules before a light touch down. Enjoy a glass of champagne in a traditional toast with some snacks and receive a flight certificate commemorating the journey.

I took my first hot air balloon ride last night. My daughter and granddaughter are uncomfortable with heights but even they enjoyed it. You would think that standing in a basket looking at farms 2-3,000 feet below would be frightening but everyone had a relaxing...More

They lay the basket on it's side. You scoot in and lay there until the balloon fills. Then the crew tilts the basket upright. The balloon takes off. Landing is the same. The basket will end up on it's side. You crawl... More
