A unique, special trip of a lifetime with the most wonderful guide/driver
We had a 10 day trip of a lifetime booked with Ranger Safari's (chosen by our UK based travel agent). We didn't know what to expect but were greeted at our Arusha hotel by our amazing guide/driver, Thadei, for the entire trip. Thadei was the most knowledgable, professional and kindest guide and he made my 60th birthday trip so special. He went out of his way to find unique and special sightings and he was an incredibly safe driver and such a genuine person. We really were so lucky to have been allocated him for our trip. We were also incredibly lucky with our wildlife sightings and we covered a lot of ground (Ngorogoro Crater and southern serengeti). We had the safari vehicle to ourselves which made the trip so much more personal to us. We were also impressed by the quality of the safari vehicle and the organisation of Ranger Safari's. I can not recommend them or Thadei highly enough. Thank you Thadei and Ranger safaris.

        Unforgettable Experience.
Unforgettable experience. Had a fantastic 7-day adventure through Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti with Ranger Safaris. Our guide Ahmed was incredibly knowledgeable and an extremely nice guy. Visited with lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, rhinos and many more, and stayed at some really nice lodges along the way. Would strongly recommend for anyone considering a safari in Tanzania.

        Simply the Best
We have traveled all around the globe and this operator is among the VERY best. What set them apart was our Ranger Richard David. He is a seasoned Ranger who was so knowledgeable but also ensured that we had a safe journey. The heavy rains had many stuck but he was thoughtful on how we approached each road. He made plans for us that were exceptional. An example being the hot air balloon. He knew exactly which firm would be closest and he arranged to pick us up upon landing to get us to the airport. At the airport he insisted he would stay until we took off. It's that type of care when you are in a new country that makes all the difference. I learned so much from Richard and will be forever grateful for the beautiful experience he gave us. His love for Africa is contagious. While no one can be guaranteed what you will see we managed to capture the BIG 5. Asante Sana Richard and Ranger Safari.

        Book with Ranger Safaris!
We had an amazing experience with Ranger Safaris! Our tour guide, Felix, was excellent. He was a great driver and was very knowledgeable. We were very impressed with how well he knew Serengeti and Ngorongoro, he knew exactly where he was going! We saw the big 5 and many more animals on the safari. We saw the great migration and were just mesmerized; definitely once in a lifetime experience. This is a trip that I will never forget. Felix was kind and a friend to us, we will miss him very much! Highly recommend booking your safari with Ranger Safaris and requesting Felix as your guide, you will not be disappointed!

A truly amazing trip with an amazing guide
My husband and I just completed a 9-day excursion across the northern part of Tanzania arranged by Ranger Safaris. From start to finish, it was clear that we were in good hands. Communication was clear, arrangements were seamless, and the many logistics were handled with aplomb. But the absolute best part of the trip was our guide, Daniel Nyamoga. A consummate professional with years of experience, Daniel transformed what could have been a straightforward driving tour of various parks and conservation lands into a tremendous learning opportunity and adventure. He is a walking encyclopedia of Tanzanian flora, fauna, fowl, and culture. Of the hundreds of questions we posed, he had well-informed answers for 99.9%. His instincts for predicting where and when we might view wildlife were amazing — he could spot creatures hiding in the trees and grass, even as we bounced along the dirt roads at 20 mph! And he encouraged us to sit with the animals rather than rushing from one sighting to the next. This patient approach yielded some truly wonderful moments — from a pride of lionesses leisurely gathering around the remnants of a recent kill to a cheetah leading her 3 cubs out of their hiding spot in the brush. Daniel’s obvious enjoyment of his work heightened our enthusiasm for what each day might bring. We have him to thank for the many amazing memories we’re bringing home from our safari.

        Beyond expectations !
Well looked after from first collection in Dar Es Salaam to return to Kilimanjaro. Our guide Saidi Msuya is outstanding; knowledgable, personable, witty and extremely skilled in finding lots of wildlife to see and photograph. The Whisper tented camp in the park is great; hippos and hyena visited overnight - without danger ! - and lions and elephants were close by. The two nights in the Ngorongoro Farm Lodge were idyllic; first rate food, very attentive staff and great atmosphere in a very rural setting. This has more than exceeded our dream of a safari and is well worth the bumpy rides on the Park tracks. It’s nice to get off the tarmac once in a while !

        Amazing Safari
We were picked up at Kilimanjaro airport by our guide Baraka He drove us first to Arusha coffee lodge were we were met by Naomi , she was very friendly and professional explaining our itinerary for the 7days We traveled with two of our friends and we had a private safari just the 4 of us in the jeep , as we were very tired from travelling we then went to our first lodge to relax by the pool, which was a great idea Our safari included Lake Manyara , Ngorongoro crater,Serengeti and finally Tangangire After that we flew to Selous for another 5 nights everything was so well organised Baraka was so friendly and he had a good sense of humour too, his knowledge of the animals and the birds was exemplary He really made our safari special, he was a very safe driver and he drove us around for hours even in very heavy rain, he must have been exhausted We saw so much the safari exceeded our expectations Whenever we stopped to see the animals Baraka always made sure that we were ready to move on , he never rushed us Highly recommend Baraka, what an amazing guide Thanks for an amazing experience we shall never forget

Amazing Safari with memories to last a lifetime
We booked a safari tour with Ranger Safari's through Trailfinders in the UK Alfred picked us up from a lodge in Arusha and took us on an epic 5 day safari tour. When we first met Alfred he said to ask him any questions and he should be able to answer them - over the next 5 days we must have asked over 500 questions in regards to the country, wildlife, lifstyles etc and he did not disappoint. What a wealth of knowledge he has and such an interesting man. My daughter wanted to see the Masai so he took us to a village where we spent an hour with the local people learning about their culture. We then spent one full day exploring the Ngorongoro Crater which was great followed by three days in the Serengeti - we had a check list of what we wanted to see and Alfred exceeded this including a Crocodile with a kill which was a highlight for my son. Alfred co ordinated a magical balloon ride for us one morning over the Serengeti which was definitely a highlight and a memory to last a lifetime. We nicknamed him Alfred The Great as he was a superb host and really made the experience one we will never forgot

An absolutely incredible honeymoon week with Jeremiah!
We spent one week on Safari in Tanzani with Jeremiah in late September/October 2023. The experience was absolutely incredible and thanks for Jeremiah we saw so much more than we thought we would! Some of our highlights were the 50+ lions, a baby cheetah and all the big 5!! None of which would have been possible without Jeremiahs extensive knowlede of the animals behaviour patterns and good relationships with fellow rangers for knowledge sharing! On a Safari, it will include several early mornings and some long drives from different parts of Tanzania and Jeremiah was incredibly friendly and made the longer journeys more enjoyable. Despite the early mornings he was always so kind and happy, which helped get us in a good mood if we were tired! We were so impressed with some of the animals Jeremiah was able to spot (such as a cheetah approx 100m away in a tree)!! We really are so thankful for everything he did over the week and we will forever be extremely grateful for the fact he made our honeymoon one to never forget!

        Memories to last a lifetime
We had a 6 day safari in September and i cannot recommend it enough. In the UK we booked with Trailfinders and every detail was smoothly organised. Trailfinders advertised it as “Simba Safari” And we went to: Taraangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti NP and finally Ngorongoro Crater. Our guide was Asgar and we were so impressed. His knowledge and skill were outstanding, he made sure everyone was ok at all times…..though I felt sorry for him when he changed the tyre during the Serengeti rains. We saw so many animals and he’d give you as long as you wanted when we were close up. Book Ranger Safaris - you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing experience with an excellent safari guide
My wife and I booked a 6 day safari tour with ranger safari for our honeymoon. It was our first safari and it was an amazing experience. Our guide Simon picked us up from the airport and took us straight to our first activity which was a tour of a local village in Arusha called ngiresi village. We got to see how people lived in the village and the highlight was meeting the school children in the village school. The next few days we visited lake manyara, ngorongoro crater and the Serengeti. Simon was an excellent guide. He kept us right throughout the trip, we had quite a lot of distance to cover and he made sure we stuck to our program and got the most out of it. He went out his way on numerous occasions to show us some interesting sights and when safari driving he knew the parks like the back of his hand. We managed to spot the big 5, the leopard evaded us and with only two days left Simon was determined to find one. He used his experience and knowledge of the animals to go looking and we managed to find two leopards the same day. It was amazing to see the big 5 on our first ever safari. Simon could answer any question we had about the animals and he also taught us alot about life and history of Tanzania. The guide plays a massive part of your safari experience and Simon made sure we had a wonderful time. Ranger safari are very professional. We had a safari briefing prior to departure that gave us some useful info before we set off. The safari truck was very comfortable and spacious. It even has a cool box. We can’t thank Simon enough for making our trip as memorable and exciting as it was. 5 stars to Simon and ranger safari.

Thou I have visited Prison island a few times already, it’s always nice to see it through another’s eyes. The trip through small boats is safe, we travelled with young children under 10 years. What I noticed was the water current is higher toward the end of the day, so perhaps not the very ideal time to travel!

The peacock addition makes the place even more interesting!

We booked through our hotel $20 pp with the main purpose of seeing the huge tortoises. The 30 min boat ride was beautiful across crystal clear waters. When we arrived the beach was breathtaking and it seems odd that it is not more popular to stay there. The tortoises are amazing, some 160yrs old and it was fun to feed them at 10:30am. They do look for donations as you exit but whether the money is really used as they say you'll never know.

We started our Half Day Tour to Prison Island just after breakfast where the representative of the Blue Agent Tours and Safaris picked us up. The trip was organized perfectly with our private boat and private guid dedicated only for us :) Full luxury and exclusivity. We used this agent since we have been picked up form the airport till the end of our stay, with sightseeing of Stone Town, Prison Island tour, pick up and drop off to the hotel in the other part of the island. The staff is extremely kind and trustful. I can not imagine visiting all those places on our own - wast of time...The Prison Island brought us a very unique experience, boat trip app. 40 minutes with amazing views and the island itself like heaven ! But the biggest surprise were the turtles so friendly and accessible some of theme at the age of almost 200 years. So happy had a chance to meet them :) Followed by sightseeing and swimming in the turquoise waters of the little beautiful island. Agnieszka & Mouhamed from Dubai

I think the other reviewers were correct when they said the boat ride to and from the island were the best parts. The water is a beautiful colour and you get nice shots of the island and Zanzibar. The prison is kind of lame - I did a guided tour - I wasn't really told much and it doesn't seem like any of it (open to the public at least) has been maintained for historical accuracy. The turtle enclosure... well it's not as bad as some of the other reviews make out, there is a bit of space for them to roam around, the younger turtles are segregated in pens - these aren't particularly great. On the way out, locals will try to get you to "donate to the turtles" - this is a scam, apparently this money is taken by them. The beach looks nice, albeit small. I mean, if you have nothing to do then I guess go? Otherwise, you aren't really missing much.

Its a great experience with all the small , big , young and old turtles
You can feed them take pictures as well as massage them so they put their head out (as they like massage below their neck)
      There are some peacocks too
When you arrive from the small boat the view is amazing
Their is also wooden bridge for pictures or the green n blue sea and the view is mesmerising

I was there twice, and would definitely go again. Excellent place for swimming/snorkelling, mesmerising ocean views from what was intended to be a prison, great fun interacting with those giant tortoises! It doesn't really matter which guide you decide to go with, the program is the same for everybody.

This is a good tour and worth the time. The giant tortoises are unique and the history of the place is interesting. The children traveling with me all fed the tortoises some lettuce. I saw a lot of fish and coral while snorkeling. Note: the snorkeling is off the boat, not the shore. Someone may find it difficult to climb back up the short ladder to the boat.
Juma was our guide and he was very friendly and attentive.

Our host for the tour was Ahmada. He was excellent, great customer service and very knowledgable. We were collected from our hotel and returned as part of the cost and the island itself is a must see if you are travelling to Zanzibar! I would highly recommend this trip and ask for Ahmada if you are going. 5*.
