About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Mark B0 contributionsFantastic bike tourWe had a fantastic bike tour with Colin around the Banghoek region. Colin was a fantastic guide and the wine stops were out of this world. Highly recommended.Written 5 December 2024
- FellowTraveler4632580 contributionsBest Your Guide of Western CapeColins is the best guide in the Western Cape. He is so knowledgeable about wine and he makes the best recommendation for restaurants and activities. We had a great day at the flowers route with him. Great value for moneyWritten 15 September 2024
- JoshB22930 contributionsFun Guide and Great Variety of WineriesWe were on our honeymoon trip and used the winelands guides throughout. Prince was our guide for the private winelands tour. He was timely and everything was seamless. Prince was the perfect guide for the relatively long trip out there, he was extremely charismatic and kept the conversation going the whole time with fun banter as well as knowledge on South African culture in Cape Town and the wine region. My wife and I had a blast just riding around with him, not to mention all the wine we consumed on our way! We stopped at 4 wineries with a great lunch downtown Stellenbosch at Meraki. Our favorite winery was L’Avenir, a cute farmhouse style winery with a lovely outdoor seating area with hummingbirds and flowers, as well as some chickens walking around. Prime also took us to a good variety of small and larger wineries so we felt we got a good feel for the area. Highly recommend the Winelands Guides.Written 18 May 2024
- JoshB22930 contributionsPerfect Way to See Everything Surrounding Cape TownWe did a cape tour with Tim from Winelands and it was the perfect start to our Cape Town leg of our vacation. Tim was super knowledgeable and took us to all the good spots, including the cutest farm village for a pit stop to get some coffees and snacks and little shops. May had amazing weather, think sunny and 65-75 F and no crowds at Cape of Good Hope. We had the most beautiful lunch at Harbor House that had killer ocean views and super fresh local seafood from the fishing dock next door. Then we saw all the Pengiuns at Boulders Beach. on our way back, Tim even let us stop at both the Kirstenbosch Gardens and took us up to the top of Table Mountain. We literally hit everything we wanted and more!Written 18 May 2024
- Tour558247360460 contributions10/10 - no notes!!!Where do we even begin?! We visited South Africa for our honeymoon and was lucky enough to have the best tour guide of all time!! Our travel agent arranged for us to have a private tour to see what Cape Town and the coast had to offer... little did we know, we would be making a friend for life! On the day of, Tim was patiently waiting for us in the lobby as we were running late from breakfast. His car was so comfortable and fully stocked with water for us. Tim showed (and educated) us on Cape Town and the surrounding areas in ways we would have never seen ourselves had we opted to rent a car and do it ourselves. We drove Chapmans Peak, stopped for coffee, went to the Cape of Good Hope, saw the penguins at Foxy Beach... and this is just to name a few stops. We stopped for a delicious waterside lunch and then spent the second half of the afternoon exploring as well. We knew our travel agent had booked us another private tour with Winelands Guide when we were spending a few nights in Stellenbosch. We loved Tim so much we requested to have him for that day as well. We were so excited to see him waiting outside for us and to spend another full day with him. Tim continued to educate us about his country as we drove through the rolling hills and made our way to 3 wineries. Tim truly went out of his way to make our honeymoon and my birthday so special... & he takes the best pictures! 10/10 recommend booking with Winelands Guide for getting the best experiences, views, and meals that South Africa has to offer. Thank you for everything, Tim!!!Written 14 May 2024
- eifeijoo0 contributionsWonderful ride around the wine landsBeautiful bike ride around the wine lands. I happened to be the only one person on this tour, so this was basically a private experience catered to my tastes. Thanks so much!Written 20 April 2024

- Mick W0 contributionsWinelands perfectionI was communicating with Colin from almost 12 months before we visited. Three days winery touring was planned, a mixture of new wineries “New Kids on the Block”, traditional wineries and additional estates suggested by Colin. Collection from the cruise terminal was arranged and Prince arrived promptly. On our way to our guesthouse in Franschoek Prince filled us in on his experience and we confirmed pick up times etc. Day one with Prince was a revelation, our particular favourite was Stony Brook, but the other three on day one were also excellent Paserene being a close second. We then had a day off during which we visited the Franschoek Motor Museum (Fantastic). Our second days tour was spent with Colin visiting some more traditional estates including Lanzerac and three others - lunch at Rust en Verede being outstanding! Dropped off at our second guest house in Constantia and day three with Prince once more for another great day. Cannot recommend Winelands Guide highly enough - superb in every way.Written 22 January 2024
- Passport325491203110 contributionsBest Experience and Guides Ever!My wife and I spent our honeymoon in South Africa, and we had the winelands guide for all transfers and tours (full cape peninsula tour and wine tasting tour) Cannot recommend them enough. Very reliable, friendly, safe! Every guide is so friendly and knowledgeable and will make your trip so special and memorable. 10/10 recommend. We can’t wait to go back to visit and hire them again!Written 18 January 2024
- Crystal V0 contributionsThe tour guides you need for your SA trip!Get this tour with Tim! Tim provided an exceptional experience during our Cape Peninsula tour! His deep knowledge of the area, combined with a genuine passion for sharing its history and hidden gems, made the journey incredibly engaging. Tim's personalized attention to our interests ensured we explored both iconic landmarks and off-the-beaten-path spots, creating unforgettable memories. His friendly demeanor and insightful commentary made the tour not just informative but also a delightful adventure. I highly recommend Tim as a tour guide for anyone looking to discover the Cape Peninsula in an enriching and memorable way!Written 29 December 2023
- Franca R0 contributionsAwesome e-bike tour with wine tastingAwesome e-bike experience! Colin took us around for an easy riding four hour tour. You can tell he grew up here, he virtually knows everything and everyone. The two wine tasting were amazing and included in the price.Written 28 December 2023
- Quest570990252910 contributionsAmazing Tours of the Cape Peninsula and the WinelandsColin and his team are amazing. Everyone we interacted with did an incredible job of sharing interesting facts while still keeping the experiences extremely fun. All drivers are safe, punctual, and fun. My wife and I would (and will!) recommend Winelands Guide to anyone traveling to Cape Town and/or the wine country. One of the best parts of our amazing trip!Written 5 December 2023
- Mdavis92_210 contributionsAmazing morning / afternoon spent cycling through vineyardsWe had a fantastic morning with Colin from Wineland Guides. He gave us a very thorough briefing so we felt safe on the e-bikes. Colin was incredibly knowledgeable about the wine industry and local area, and stopped at the most scenic spots so we could take photos and hear more about the history of Stellenbosch. We stopped at Thelema and Rainbows End for some fantastic local wines. Also travelling via bikes through vineyards gives you the most phenomenal views that you miss when travelling via car!Written 2 December 2023
- Happiness242484164270 contributionsCape Town and Stellenbosch toursMy wife and I used winelands tours during our time in Cape Town and Stellenbosch. We had Prince pick us up from the airport and drop us off at our destination. He was an extremely friendly face and welcoming guy on our first visit to South Africa. We then had Tim take us on a Cape Peninsula through Cape Town and then a full day tour of wine tasting through Stellenbosch. Neither of my wife or I are big wine drinkers but Tim found the perfect spots for us to enjoy both wine tasting and lunch. Both were amazing tours and Tim was extremely sweet, knowledgeable, and accommodating to us. We never met the owner Colin but he too was very accommodating and helpful through the whole process. If you want to have amazing tours, at your own pace and requests, these guys will make sure everything is perfect. Thank you so much winelands tours. Whenever we come back we will call on you again.Written 11 November 2023
- christinalN8805PS0 contributionsThe best way to experience Cape Town and Cape WinelandsI can’t imagine our trip to Cape Town and the Cape Winelands without using Winelands Guide. We spent a few days with Tim and Collin on the full day Cape Peninsula tour, private wine tour in Stellenbosch, e-bike tour through Franschhoek, and transfers to and from the airport. They were always punctual, flexible, SO knowledgeable, and it felt like touring with friends by the end. They do such a great job of making each experience feel personal. They made everything so easy and fun, and we could not imagine seeing everything we did and getting all the context and history in a better way. We could not recommend their services more for couples, friends, or families looking to explore Cape Town or the Winelands in a fun, personal, and informative way.Written 29 October 2023
