    The Living Desert is a zoo and botanical conservation park. We have over 450 different animals with boasting over 2,000 unique flora and fauna species within our botanical gardens. Our park showcases the unique and diverse desert animals of North America and Africa. 

    The Living Desert operates from 9am-5pm October through May, and 8am-1:30pm June through September. Your ticket includes admission to the Zoo.

    Visited in early September and it was HOT! Be sure to bring your sunscreen, water, and an umbrella for shade (some brought in wagons for the kids and food). Summer hour are shortened greatly and the zoo closes at 1:30, so get there early to...More

    I love zoos..it was well laid out and not too busy. Only saw a couple of animal s as it was really hot ..obviously

    This definitely a place to visit if you enjoy animals and learning about their habitats. We fed the giraffes amd all the animals were out and about so we got to see them up close. There is a learning area for little kids that had...More

    This zoo is one of my favorite things to do in the Coachella valley. The giraffe feeding is awesome! The grounds are beautiful, showing vegetation from the North American deserts as well as the African Desert. And all the volunteers and staff are super helpful.

    Just request The Living Desert. Any car service will know. If you use Uber or Lyft you can enter Living Desertvas your destination and it will pop up.

    As I recall there were trams that went around the property. We did not check them out so I'm afraid I can't give you any info about them. But they sure looked like a good way to see the park, especially if the weather is hot.
