Creepy fun

Really fun tour, my guide Neil was personable with a wealth of knowledge on all things LA. While I thought I knew some background on these haunted spots, Neil was able to provide lots of new and interesting information. Only negative spot was the infamous Cecil hotel is currently all boarded up with not much to see. Would definitely recommend booking the experience!

Great tour!
We all found this a very interesting tour with Derek. He was a great guide, very enthusiastic and full of great stories about the history of LA, graveyards, the Wild West, haunted places, unsolved murders and theories about supernatural stuff. We totally recommend this tour, you also see downtown LA from a different perspective!

Great Tour
Booked this tour because we wanted to experience Downtown LA and hear about LAs beginnings.

Sabrina was our tour guide and did a great job. We learned a lot about LA and the tour was very well done, exciting and fun. It didn’t seem long or boring at all and we saw all the main attractions.

Sabrina also recommended some great food choices which we checked out after the tour!

Would definitely recommend!

Fun walking tour
Dec 2019
The Haunted Tales tour is a really good ghost/history tour in downtown LA.

We had Derek as our guide and he was lively and engaging the entire time. The topics mixed ghost tours, a little history of Los Angeles (which is always welcome in these tours), and some grizzly murders. He even had an iPad for some visuals to help.

I'd recommend it for people looking to learn some stories of the area (and for those who want to find out which horrible serial killers lived in what hotel). Good times!

The Haunted Tales of DTLA was an extremely enjoyable experience for me and my boyfriend. Derek, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I would love to do another tour with him again! I would highly recommend if you are interested in the history of LA.

Derek is fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable about not just the tour, but about the city of LA as well. Despite knowing some of the haunted history of the sights we saw, we still learned a lot from our tour. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone interested in the supernatural side of LA.

Enjoyed It
Derek was a great guide, and he answered all my questions. We explored quite a bit of Downtown LA, and heard a lot of interesting stories. Wear comfortable shoes! The full moon and foggy night made for a great backdrop.

Fun trip through downtown.
Jun 2019 • Family
Our guide was very knowledgeable and obviously enjoyed sharing her extensive knowledge with us. Her enthusiasm bubbled through, and she made an effort to talk to everyone in the group separately.

Two critics: it wasn't very spooky at all. No real ghost stories, more like murder here, odd death there. Except for the Cecil Hotel. She convinced me never to stay there!

#2 - We were there for a ghost tour. None of us need a less on racial/sexual orientation inequality. Also, keep your politics out of it. You may not like conservative people, that was very clear, but they are people too - your guests in this case. Treating guests poorly is not the way to go.

Stick to ghost stories and everyone well have a better time.

We are meant to express the historical context of what led to some of the murders with the attempts to describe the tensions at the time. We do not go into current political climate topics.

Very interesting tour
Great way to see and hear the history of downtown LA.
AJ our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. So much I learnt about LA since having never been to downtown before. Limited ghost stories but that didn’t bother us because the stories given were great.
AJ was able to answer the questions asked.
Two hours of walking but lots of stopping to hear the stories.
Definitely recommend this tour.

Disappointed
The tour guide was very knowledgeable but felt that she didn’t engage with the group much. Was a little awkward going from each spot. But this could’ve been because she had had a disturbing encounter with a homeless person earlier that same day, which is completely understandable.
However I was expecting more ghost stories. I felt like it was more of a history tour than a ghost tour.
