About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- thomassX8832WO0 contributionsWealth of KnowledgeThe exchange and tour were fantastic. The driver was a great help processing through the border and was very gracious with any stops I wanted to make. Additionally, the tour guide at the falls was a fountain of knowledge both on the falls and Zimbabwe as a whole. I learned so much more information than I would have on my own. If you have the chance, take this tour and don't look back. Every penny is worth it and I can't imagine a better experience.Written 5 December 2024
- Departure419618945480 contributionsUnforgettable Okavango Delta Adventure with Kalahari Breeze SafarisI had the most incredible experience with Kalahari Breeze Safaris in the Okavango Delta. It was truly the highlight of my entire road trip. The serene beauty of the Delta, along with the guidance of Craig and our two local Mokoro guides, made for an unforgettable adventure. Visiting the village was a unique and enriching experience, allowing me to connect more deeply with the local culture and our guides. The genuine care shown for the animals, the environment and the relationship between nature and people throughout the tour made it even more special. I wholeheartedly recommend Kalahari Breeze Safaris to anyone looking for a memorable and authentic journey. Thank you for creating such lasting memories!Written 5 December 2024
- P7281VSjohns0 contributionsGood Day trip but with a caveatOverall good experience, mokoro guides are nice and good. Just be aware, the day trip needs a minimum number of 4 passengers, otherwise, it will be cancelled or offered you to reschedule. So if you're solo traveller or pressed on time, this might be an issue. I think this should be fully disclosed and explained on the listing, not a vague one-liner. Seems disingenious on the operator side.Written 22 November 2024
- SueH684060 contributionsA superb experienceThe trip was well organised and went very smoothly. When we wanted to add on the white water rafting and Devil's pool at Victoria Falls they re-shuffled everything so the timing went perfectly. They advised us on the little things such as visa details and what to wear and bring, especially for Wild camping. The wild camping was tailored to what we want and they went above and beyond. The chef cooked delicious food and they kept the place spotless. We saw so many animals up close in the Delta and Chobe. The river kayaks with hippos nearby were great. Hearing nature sounds was so relaxing. The Falls guides were all so good. White water rafting was exhilarating and Devil's Pool a fantastic experience.Written 19 November 2024
- Camper140242465360 contributionsWhat a way to see the best of Botswana and get up close with animals! As a solo woman this was a fantastic way to travel, as I joined an existing group of two for the camping part of it, then travelled solo onto Kasane (Chobi National Park) and Victoria Falls where I stayed in hotels. Maria tailored the trip to meet my requirements and was efficient and courteous in answering my questions. The highlight for me was the camping as it is the best way to get up close with animals, but you must be prepared to 'rough it' a bit - camp bed and en-suite long drop toilet and bush shower (with hot water) - but all comfortable. The elephants came to us one night - I looked out my tent window and all I could see was elephant. The guide was dedicated in seeking out the animals and the three camp staff were efficient and friendly. The first night I slept on a mattress in the open at the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans - wow, what stars. Then two nights camping at a mobile camp in the Okavango Delta, a night R&R in Maun, then three nights camping in Moremi Game Reserve. The number and variety of animals and birds sighted exceeded my expectations. My favourite sighting was the pride of three lionesses with their eight cubs.Written 14 October 2024
- Meander6124420 contributionsWonderful! What a wonderful day trip! We were picked up by our awesome driver right on time. Our poler guide Flamingo was so knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. We got to see tons of animals and learn about the delta while peacefully floating along the river. I would highly recommend!Written 2 October 2024
- 124mjr0 contributionsAmazing experience - what a safari should be!We spent a total of 5 nights/6 days doing an overland tour from Maun to Kasane and spent 3 nights in Moremi and 2 nights in Savute/Chobe. Our guide, Clifford, was extremely knowledgeable and able to identify all animals and birds easily, able to navigate the difficult roads, and able to do these while also looking for animal tracks and giving us a very informational tour. You can tell his knowledge and passion for the areas which was infectious. We saw tons of animals - lions on every single game drive, leopards, buffalo, and tons and tons of elephants, hippos, zebras, impala etc. Overall, we had a lot more time on game drives than I have experienced when staying in lodges and because of this had more time to see animals and to sit and observe them (like watching elephants do mud +dust baths!). The "camp team" was also excellent, the food was fantastic (thanks OG!) and I definitely did not expect hot showers in the bush so that was a wonderful surprise. Great staff and a great group we were paired with, felt like family by the end of the week!Written 23 September 2024
- Jacquster0 contributionsDelta Mokoro experienceThis is an amazing trip and the guides are very knowledgeable and keen to share the knowledge of their area. Strongly recommendWritten 16 September 2024
- amanda09680 contributionsVisit to the fallsAmazing place that should be visited if in this part of Africa. We had a guided tour of the falls, which was informative, walked from one end to the other stopping at each viewing point for photos and to admire the falls. Very clean, pathways in good condition, easy walking and wide enough for buggies/wheelchairs.Written 15 September 2024
- Sherpa380311903430 contributionsFantastic safari experienceWe had an absolutely wonderful safari with Kalahari Breeze starting in Victoria falls and then through Botswana. They helped us plan our dream trip, organisation was excellent and everything went very smoothly. The guides were all excellent, friendly and knowlegeable. The highlight for me was the wild camping experience in the Okovango delta. The night sleeping under the stars in the Makgadikgadi salt plans was amazing but marred by some organisational issues on the part of the lodge. All the other lodge experiences were great, very comfortable with great food. Thank you Kalahari Breeze! Highly recommended!Written 10 September 2024
- cedrick6670 contributionsPeaceful Mokoro TripThis part of the delta was beautiful and our Guide from the Village Gedeon was very knowledgeable. He told us everything we needed to know. We saw a lot of Hippos, Giraffes with a baby, Gnus, Impala, Buffalos, Zebras, Pelicans, lots of other birds and Elefants. All in all amazing experience.Written 7 September 2024
- samanthak270 contributionsAmazing experience. We opted for a bespoke 6 day tour. We started at Maun and did 2 days wild camping in Moremi, two days in Khwai at a lodge and two days on a houseboat in Seronga. Maria from Kalahari Breeze was amazing. She was prompt with all correspondence and made some brilliant suggestions for our itinerary. The wild camping was amazing. A team prepared our food and our tents. We saw amazing wildlife, especially lions, and wonderful sunsets. Tsidi the driver and Ronnie the mechanic were awesome. For this part od the journey we were a group of 8. We then had two days at Moremi O Bona Lodge which was out of this world. Mocks our guide managed to track us leopards and wild dogs as well as the wonderful other sightings. The whole team here made us so welcomed and they cared for us well. From here we flew to Seronga where Cpt Sam and Jonah welcomed us and we tried mokuru, bird watching and fishing. And from there back to Maun. None of this would have been possible without Kalahari Breeze. They made our trip unforgettable.Written 7 September 2024
- OnAir322019323760 contributionsAmazingAmazing day, giraffes and elephants on the track in. Within 30minutes of reaching the park we were 2.5 metres away from a leopard keeping an eye on the antelope. Drove for another 20 minutes to see a massive herd of Zebra drove around the corner to a pride of 4 lions looking well feed relaxing under a tree once again amazingly close. Then went in search of the painted wild dog low and behold we found a pack of this endangered species once again with a very good viewing point of them relaxing in the shade. All in one day is pretty amazing.Written 3 September 2024
- steve k0 contributionsWhat Safari is all about! What a great experience. Communication was spot on and professional. Maria, the owner, is super pleasant and willing to help in any way. Let's start with the ride. My description might sound negative, but it is not. We found it to be one of the highlights of the trip. Probably 70 miles off grid on rugged bumpy roads. I think people would pay just for the experience. The Delta is an untouched oasis of what life has been like for thousands of years. "Raps" was our guide. Excellent choice. As a poler he is skilled and as a guide he is informative and speaks near perfect English. He has a great personality and sense of humor. Hippos, giraffe, various birds, impala, buffalo...all were present. The Bushwalk brought us within 20 feet of 6 giraffes feeding and a small group of zebra. The campsite epitomized what camping is all about. Tents were set up, liens provided plus some basic essentials. We were greeted warmly and offered a fresh wet towel to freshen. The site was positioned near a large watering hole so plenty of wildlife came into view. Baboons and several listed above were present. Master was our head guide and he is focused on providing you with the best experience seeing the animals. He did not disappoint. Lions, ostrich, Buffalo, wild dogs, hyenas, various birds, plus more. OG was the head chef and delivered great quality food throughout the day. All food is cooked on open flame and he makes the best bread. Cooked in the ground covered in coals this bread was legit. You must add this to your Africa safari plans. We WILL BE BACK!Written 31 August 2024
- Zvonimir K0 contributionsUnforgettable experienceVery special and not to be missed experience in Okavango delta. Our poler was very informative, pointing and naming different birds and animals when noticing them. He would stop Mokoro and positioned it for better photo position. But, it highly depends on the poler. Some other members from our group in other Mokoro canue were highly unsatisfied with their poler as it kept silent all the time.Written 18 August 2024

This was an extraordinary and incredibly relaxing experience. I went with a friend who had been in safaris before. As someone who had never been to Africa or slept in a tent, I was nervous about this trip, especially because it sounded far less protected then other safaris I had heard about. It was actually very safe, exhilarating, and super comfortable. The food was incredible, with a talented chef turning out 3 course meals over a fire, paired with lovely South African and Italian wines. The tents, while simple, had cots and hot water bottles to cuddle with at night. Our guide in the delta grew up there and his mother is also a guide there. He led us on a more than five hour walking safari where we got close to giraffes, zebras, and many other animals, while he skillfully kept us away from lions and elephants (we saw them all later when we were in an open safari truck in Moremi with a guide who specialized in that area). We were taken on exquisite canoe trips and hikes at sunrises and sunset, as well, where I breathed probably the cleanest and purest air I have ever breathed and had the chance to just sit and relax. Maun, the main tourist jumping off town, has good places to stay; we stayed at Maun Studios, sleeping in a large, elegant space with a king sized bed, mosquito meeting, and a huge walk-in shower, and had breakfasts outside with fruit they grew in the garden we were sitting in. I could go on, about the game park, the really nice people taking care of us in our camp sites, the restaurants in Maun, how nice Chris and Maria (the owners) are, how using this company puts money directly into businesses and communities in Botswana, how everyone greets you by asking if you slept well the night before, etc. Remember how big Botswana is, so if you pick activities far apart, think about whether you want to be driven there or use a small plane for your transfer. We were driven, and saw a lot of the country, but if you are short on time and have the money, you might want to fly. We went in June, which is winter and the time it is good to visit the Delta. If you go then, pack lots of safari-colored clothes, and be sure to include very warm things like down jackets, hats, thick socks, wool layers, etc. It is always more fun when you aren’t cold and layers are your friend because the temperature swings a lot during the day. I strongly recommend doing this trip at least one time in your life, it’s an incredible privilege to see these places with the people who are from there guiding you.

What an amazing experience we had with Kalahari Breeze!
This was our first time in Botswana where we did the 8 day wild camping in Okavango and Moremi followed by two days to the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. In the months leading up to the trip, we were in frequent communication with the lovely Maria and Chris who listened to our interest and guided us to our perfect tour.
The first 3 days were spent in the inner Okavango Delta where transport to the campsite was by Mokoro. Gliding through the long grass whilst spotting hippos in the distance really set the standard high! Our campsite was untouched tranquility with only the animals for company, so much so we even had a family of elephants visit us one afternoon which was a real highlight. The walking tours within Okavango were a great experience having previous only done game drives in previous trips. The food was excellent throughout all cooked on an open fire!
The game/scenery in Moremi was a great contrast to the Okavango. Once again our guide was incredibly knowledgable and the camp staff raced to ensure our camp was ready for arrival.
Sleeping under the stars in the Salt pans was definitely worth the trip and added to our experience in seeing the different aspects to Botswana.
With June being the coldest month (temps dropping to 2 degrees at night) Maria and Chris really thought about all the finishing touches including hot water bottles at night!
With Botswana being one of the few places where you can in fact “wild-camp”, this trip truly felt like an authentic experience. We would love to come back again.
