Overview
Explore the history and culture of the Icelandic capital on this 2.5-hour Reykjavik walking tour. Follow a guide through the streets of Reykjavik and take in top attractions including City Hall, the Harpa Concert Hall, the Old Harbour, and the Sólfar sculpture. Climb Hallgrímskirkja Church’s high bell tower for panoramic views out to the coast, and gain insight into Iceland’s Norse mythology at the statue garden of Einar Jónsson. Along the way, find out what sets Reykjavik apart from the world’s other capitals.
Highlights
  • Get to know Reykjavik on foot, with your guide leading the way
  • See top attractions: Harpa Concert Hall and Einar Jónsson's statue garden
  • Visit the Hallgrímskirkja Church bell tower, with entrance fees included
  • Panoramic views across the city to Faxaflói Bay
What to Expect
Meet your guide in downtown Reykjavik, and then set off into the city to begin your walking tour. First, visit Hallgrímskirkja Church—a landmark on the Reykjavik skyline. Climb to the top of the bell tower and admire sweeping views over the red rooftops to Faxaflói Bay and beyond, while your guide sheds light on the capital’s layout. Next, head to Einar Jónsson's statue garden. Here, gain insight into the myths and legends of the Norse gods. Stroll along the lanes of Thingholt and visit Reykjavik City Pond—where ducks, geese, and swans paddle in the shallows. Take in city attractions including Harpa Concert Hall, the harbor, cathedral, parliament building, and other highlights. Enjoy fine views across the bay to Mt. Esja, and finish your tour at the Sólfar sculpture in central Reykjavik.

Probably not. It's about an hour even with a driver to get to Reyk., and that's not including getting your bags, etc.

If you go to the Tourist Information office (where walking tours begin) I'm sure that the guide would be happy for you to join his/her group when the tour begins.

Sorry to hear that! Ours ran a bit late, but was very apologetic, and then we were off. I'd be sure to petition for your money back for the tour guide being a no-show.
